Whatever you come up with, it would be nice if the team name was not only describing this second team but also subtly sticking it to the PCs. So something like "Titus' Dependable Adventuring Company" - "The Dependables" for short - would always have that not-so-subtext that the PCs weren't dependable, as Alston and his crew weren't there for Saltmarsh when the Prefect needed them.

So these are the ones I like so far and plan to play around with until they work or something better comes along before they are introduced in-game:

The Stormers or Silver Stormers
I like "The Stormers" maybe with a different modifier than "Silver"

The Free Company of Saltmarsh,
Basic and straightforward, but works. They could be the Free Company of Curia (the capital) but have locals start calling them "of Saltmarsh" instead, which might get the PCs' goats.

Lavinia's Titans?.

I like the idea of a name with "Titans" in it.

The Favoured Few

Oh yeah, this one rocks.

The Titus Tetrad (the Tetrad for short)
I like this one, too.

Heroes of the Salt (i.e. coastal adventurers)

Seems appropriate (the adventure they "Did" but the PCs turned down was "Isle of Abbey"

something like "Titus' Dependable Adventuring Company" - "The Dependables" for short

Again, another great one to get the PCs' goat.

Thanks for all you help everyone. . . keep them coming (or variations on the above). Since we only play every 3 to 5 weeks, it will be August at the earliest before they are done with the current adventure (assuming they survive), so plenty of time to tweak.

The Protectors?
The Storm Sentinels?
The Silver Sentinels?

These guys should really be doing something apart from drinking in celebration? Maybe they specialise in defending places and training local militia?

You could have a group of local NPCs. Something like the Boy Scouts. Call them " Protector Cadets" All the local teenagers want to be in the cadets and get cool uniforms and weapons training.
(This seems like something which a tactician would recommend to the Prefect of Saltmarsh)

Sure, drinking in celebration is just gonna be the introductory scene!

I like some of your suggestions though since at this point the leaders of Saltmarsh along with their allies are preparing to potentially defend the town from
an invasion of sahaugin
while planning a pre-emptive strike that the PCs will be invited to lead.
