S2: War in Vastermarch - Completed

Tharok said:
"I know nothing of these men of which you speak." Tharok asserts. "I am a prisoner of war. I expect only death at your hands. You would fare no better at mine. But no games. You have won this battle. This nation will be conquored again by my people. We are the rightful rulers of this land. It may not be by my hand, but someday you will writhe under the hot brand of an orc!"
'Johny Irons' gives a grunt at Tharok's assertion. "You surrender and cry out in a girlish voice, 'Don't kill me', but then expect nothing but death. You're pathetic, not a warlord. Who were you going to give the weapon to then? Clearly you would want to get such an item out of your incompetent hands as quickly as possible."

We'll say its morning for eveyone now, for simplicity.

Tharok says in a low voice, "You want information. I want my freedom. Perhaps we can
make a deal."

At the Temple of Hyrag Juliana and Eusebius have spent an uncomfortable night next to Torvin's cot.

Various supplicants line up neatly to receive their blessings. Captain Carter shows up to regulate this. Many of the people needing healing are unconscious. Many are soldiers, but most are not.

The high priest and an acolyte emerge after morning prayer. The high priest is a very old man. His skin seems almost transparent, his colorless hair thin and whispy, his body thin, and his eyes watery and glazed. Perhaps this is simply how a man's body looks after 90 years, and not an indication of his inner condition. Perhaps not. He seems to have a particular interest in Torvin and walks over to him, unaided. The priest wears no armor and carries no weapons, but is garbed in a robe bearing Hyrag's hammer.

Is anyone setting off to search for Poto Knezer? If so, who?

Talbin explains to Banion: "Well, Poto is actually the whole reason I came to this town. A bard in Orussus told be to find him here. He said that Poto could tell me how to find adventure. I could help with something big.. and dangerous. Very exciting!"

The next morning Talbin indeed sets out to find Poto.

The next morning Talbin indeed sets out to find Poto.

"Well, I wouldn't trust a bard too much and Poto sounds a rather silly name, the kind a bad bard would make up if given little time. As for adventure, there are like a billion orcs out there sacking the countryside. But since right now I'm not doing anything, I'll go with you, if you let me talk about the new ideas I have about how to use my abilities." says Nodis.

"Poto Kneezer? He's real enough. In fact, he's my uncle... don't ask how that could happen. I was planning on looking him up, too."

Juliana can approach Captain Carter in the temple or can stay with Eusebius and Torvin. They're all in the same room at this point. The high priest approaches Eusebius and asks in a quavering voice, "What's this about Torvin being under dark influences?"

Beamer is interrogating Tharok in the stables.

Nodis and Talbin are heading off to search for Poto Knezer. Does Banion accompany them? Presumably, Ogrin & Razh will stay with Beamer.

Tharok says in a low voice, "You want information. I want my freedom. Perhaps we can make a deal."
"Mayhaps, but I don't trust you. If I wanted lies, I could just tortue you until you say whatever you think I want to hear. It could come to that still, but I'd rather have useful information. You'll have to tell me something that we can verify, but it better be something we couldn't have figured out on our own."
