ic: If Beamer's OK with Banion heading out, he'll see about looking for Uncle Poto.

ooc: Banion and Beamer are at least theoretically being hunted by ninjas. Perhaps that will give you some room to introduce at least a moderate amount of combat? :) I'll stick with you, Manzanita, but "I don't anticipate a whole lot of combat" worries me. I like combat!

OOC: If members of Eusebius' party want to head out (back to the RDI), then we'd better divvy up the last share of the gold. Also, we haven't had any time up 'til now to go over the treasure from Aif Jenkins' Farm.

Does anybody have an Identify spell (or 10)?

BTW, you won't be surprised to know that Eusebius will stick around for the final quest. :)

[sblock=Post S2 OOC Stuff: ]Thanks very much, Manz. I can't speak for rln, but this last week I've been really busy, so I blame that for my lack of attention. I didn't feel a terrible disconnect with the story, not any more than I expected from two adventures joining up anyway. So no worries!

So this is the end of S2, already?! It seemed to go by so fast. I do love playing in your games, Manz, so I guess time flies when you're having fun. Wik has offered to DM Rasereit's expedition to his homelands, but I don't think Razh is quite ready, power level wise, to beat back the same opponents that forced an entire clan of warrior dwarves from their home. Also, I offered the DMship to you, Manz, and I think you expressed some interest. If you're still considering it, consider this:

Here's what I'm thinking. Rasereit will need some warriors to go with him into his old clanhold. What better warriors than those who have proven themselves on the field of battle next to him? Rasereit, though not a good character, would be willing to assist Eusebius in his endeavor if Eusebius was willing to return the favor. And the others (Juliana, Banion, Beamer, Talbin, Nodis) may not need any more incentive than the promise of treasure and excitement. Talbin certainly didn't before! (I hope I'm not being presumptuous by assuming that Ogrin will continue to travel with Rasereit.)

So Razh (and hopefully Ogrin!) would play in S3 and then continue on to "Into the Depths" or whatever we call Razh's clanhold reclamation. If S3 is low combat, ItD will certainly by high combat.

This is all kind of off the top of my head, but it seemed to fall into place. Thoughts?[/sblock]

[sblock=Post S2 OOC]Rae, so long as Eusebius doesn't have to go on some quest to atone for nearly killing Torvin, I'd be happy for him to accompany Rasereit. And I know that he'd be happy to have whatever help he can get in S3! :)

I don't know Razh's backstory - but if the overrunning of his clanhold had anything to do with undead, Eusebius would be in there like a shot. He doesn't like undead. [/sblock]

[sblock=Post S2 OOC: ]Well, at one point the "foul creatures" were mind flayers and drow, but it was decided that mind flayers and drow were cliche Underdark enemies, and I changed it to the intentionally vague "foul, intelligent creatures". So, it's up to the DM and me, and it's variable based on other PC's needs, I suppose. So it very well could be undead![/sblock]

Post S2
[sblock]I've struggling with my DMing lately. As much as I'd like to continue to DM Razh & Ogrin, I'm going to pass on commiting to anything beyond S3. If you've really got another volunteer DM, that's awesome, and you should definitely take him up on it.

I suspect there will be enough combat for Banion. There are definitely some non-combat parts, though, as well as some unusual combat situations.

I would prefer you all keep playing here & allow your PCs to decide IC whether or not they want to continue on to S3. Beamer may want some help on his interogation if nothing else.[/sblock]

Talbin, Nodis and Banion walk to the militia HQ near the gates. They are recognized and greeted. The soldiers are glad there are powerful adventurers here in town. They are told Poto Knezer is having second breakfast in the Inn next door.

He's not hard to find inside. A hansome middle-aged gnome dressed in purple robes and a pointed green hat is sitting at a table telling a story to several young females, a halfling, a half elf and a gnome.

Tharok turns away & awaits Beamer's return.

OOC: Beamer would be carry on with S3, even though he is not good. He puts a high premium on staying with people who fight anyone trying to kill him.

Also, I'm not particularly interested in roleplaying all the intricate details of what Beamer might be willing to do to Tharok to get information. His plan is to keep Tharok captive as long as he is useful, basically until the orcs are defeated. It seems he likely could tell the commanders of Braeholl where the invading orc armies are vulnerable and possibly provide insights into the orcs capabilities, in addition to any information he has about the half-scythe. We could also say that Beamer accidently killed him, while trying to torture some more information out of him. Or we could say that the group decided to leave for S3 and Beamer turned him over to the leaders of Braehol after learning what he could after one night.

Edit: Just saw Manz last post. If you'd rather do all the questions in character, that's fine too.

I'm not particular either. I thought you were doing a good job, but torture can be a dicy topic. I'm not sure how far Beamer would be willing to go. Or even if someone would intervene if he did go very far. I'm not inclined to release any important info from Tharok, though, unless we do RP it. Not that he necessarily knows anything important that you can't find out somewhere else...
