S3: The Scythe of Seto (Bront Judging)[Completed]

Rasereit charges forward, his brain not registering Ogrin's words, but certainly catching their meaning. His waraxe cleaves through the shadow in what should be a killing blow, but the creature's form simply rolls around the dwarf's weapon like smoke.

Round 2 (con't)

Beamer's missiles blast pieces of darkness of the shadow threatening Ogrin, but don't destroy it. Razh rushes to his friend's defence, but neither seems to do the unsubstantial creature any damage.

The wight facing Banion flees into the woods, giving the halfling a free parting shot

Round 3
(if Banion doesn't destroy the shadow...)

Initiative:
Beamer (25/25 HPs)
Eusebius (44/44 HPs; Used 1 Greater turning)
S (16 dmg to S2; S1 destroyed)
Banion (59/59 HPs) <--Banion w/AoO & 2nd round action remaining.
W3 (W1 & W2 destroyed; W3 fled)
Ogrin (45/45 HPs; -6 STR)
Razh (72/72 HPs; -3 STR)

Banion will step back, throw, and manifest a new mindblade. (If someone could roll for me, that would be great. Hard to manage that on the cell phone!)

Rasereit proceeds to hack at the insubstantial thing with several furious blows, but each swing catches less shade and more air.

[sblock=Rolls: ]Full attack: Another natural 1, along with two fails on the miss chance anyway. A truly sorry series of rolls.[/sblock]

The immediate battle ends, as Beamer blasts the last shadow into nothingness. Banion can hear the fleeing wight crash through the brush into the Silverwood. He also knows he did get a dig out of it as it fled (AoO successful). Ogrin & Razh feel weakened.

At this point, though, nothing is threatening the party. The bodies of the two women still lie under the wagon, but are still. The horses are restless, but haven't bolted. Their wagon is full of crates and boxes. It is about 2 am.

Rasereit isn't about to let an undead creature wreak havoc on the innocent people of the nearby villages. The shade before him taken care of, the dwarf pounds away into the forest after the fleeing wight. (120' movement, or 60' charge attack if possible.)
