OOC: How did Eusebius end up in this bottleneck? Now the bear can't reach Torvin, Beamer is only a step away from the wererat and Eusebius has nowhere to go.

ooc: Hmm. It's a bitmap, I'm surprised you're having trouble with it. It's a copy of your own map with a "4" added for Banion's position at the end of round 4 (8 squares to the east of his starting position, which is a single move for Banion) and a 5 indicating his position at the end of round 5, about 7 squares (due to the 1.5 diagonal rule) to the east/northeast of the 4.

Banion ran around the circle counterclockwise. He should be about 10' north of "L", not on the bridge at all.

Beamer sees Eusebius glance back, looking for a place to step back to. He fires a bolt of enfeebling energy at the Torvin and then steps back out of the way to give Eusebius some room to operate. "Step back next to me, Father, and let the bear take a crack at him.

OOC:
Cast empowered ray of enfeeblement ray of enfeeblement (1d20+9=29, 1d6+3=5) => -7 Strength on Torvin and then 5 foot step north.
Spells remaining after grease: 6/3/5/1

Sorry I've been such a lame poster. I don't know that I'll be able to do better any time soon, but we are close to wrapping this up.

Razh's evil twin fights back with all the fury of the original. He catches Razh with the edge of his axe, but doesn't take him down.

Razh: 11 hps
evil razh: 7 hps

----------------
Round 6
Beamer hits the fallen Paladin with his ray, and steps back.
Ogrin rushes forward, tilting the odds even further in favor of the heroes.
Eusebius (NPCed) withdraws to the North, allowing the Bear to advance.
The bear has been waiting to get a crack at this armored foe, and leaps full at him. It catches the warrior with both claws and its teeth, dealing a devistating amount of damage (35). Torvin survives this, and even manages to pull out of its grip. But as he does so, he slips on the greasy bridge and falls. He doesn't fall off the bridge, though.

Round 7
Lothar's vision has returned. He levels his find black crossbow, and fires at Ogrin. The bolt flies high, though, and leaves the halfling unscathed.

Round 7
Lothar: (-19 hps)
Sangster (dead)
Banion (53/59)<---
Torvin (-66 HPs/-7 Str/prone)
Beamer (hasted until round 8/grease til round 9)
Ogrin (49/51)
Eusebius: (32/44 hps)(hasted until round 8/ shield of faith for 3 minutes)
Bear (hasted until round 8)

Eusebius' mind races as he tries desperately to think of a way to disable Torvin without killing him. He still longs to find healing for the paladin but has to admit that his first priority is to destroy the scythe. Even if Torvin were to surrender, the party has no way of restraining him until such time as a cure for his lycanthropy might be found.

So with a heavy heart he stands by as the bear continues its attack, and he prays for Torvin's soul, at such time as the fallen servant of Hyrag comes to the judgement of fire.

Seing Lothar fire his crossbow, Beamer moves toward him and calls out acidly, "Traditionally when you surrender, that means you STOP FIGHTING! Drop your weapon now or you will be given no quarter . . . Ignite!" Beamer punctuates his point with a gout of flame from his wand.

OOC:
"Torvin (-66 HPs/-7 Str/prone)"
Wow, that's not exactly a favorable position, is it? :)

scorching ray at Lothar (1d20+9=11, 4d6+1=12)

Ogrin appears to continue his running step in an attempt to get past Lothar, but at the
last second
, he turns to attack the treacherous 'merchant', his blade slicing across his throat.

"Spare your words, kinsman. The only mercy he deserves is that of death..."

OOC: Feint DC 22, attack hits AC 21, 2 damage + 6 sneak damage

In quick succession, Banion, Beamer and Ogrin take down Lothar. The assassin isn't built for such punishment, and his death is likely to be morned by none.

The creature that was once Torvin Arkenthrasher struggles to is feet, only to clocked by one of the bears huge paws. The bear cannot walk on the bridge, not without almost certainly falling. It's blow reels Torvin further, but again, he keeps from falling. He steps backwards, out of the bears reach, his rodent face unreadable, but based on the damage he's taken, he's surely not far from death.

Round 8
Lothar: (dead)
Sangster (dead)
Banion (53/59)<---
Torvin (-74 HPs/-7 Str)
Beamer (hasted until round 8/grease til round 9)
Ogrin (49/51)
Eusebius: (32/44 hps)(hasted until round 8/ shield of faith for 3 minutes)
Bear (hasted until round 8)
