So Talentwise it would be Weap Spec, Block, Deflect, and Lightsaber Defense. Take Makashi the next Knight Talent I get

Don't forget Force Haze, if you don't want to lose the "Force Stealth" aspect of the character. Another thing which I'm not sure is clear above is that you can take Lightsaber Defense more than once (each time you do it increases the bonus to your Ref defense when wielding a lightsaber). That sounds like something this character might have... and it'd make Makashi more mechanically effective as a talent choice too.

Finally there's another form talent you might be interested in (being a finesse fighter): Ataru. It works like Weapon Finesse, but for damage bonus instead of attack bonus.

Or, Weapon Finesse 4, limited to lightsabers, for those of us for whom that feat means something. Of course, since two-handing gives you double strength to damage, this makes it even nicer.

Makashi is nice, but I think Juyo works really well for an enhance ability/battlemind character.

I'd stick with one Force training (surge, move object, farseeing). Force disarm is useless, battlestrike is more of an analog than a direct translation of his abilities. Skill Focus (UtF) would give him a nice Block and Deflect.

Taking Lightsaber Defenese at 10th and Makashi at 12th is still an option, segging nicely into Jedi Master (if appropriate).

Force Haze has a prerequisite of Clear Mind, which the writeup doesn't have. I'd recommend taking the Jedi Talents Block, Deflect, Redirect, and Weapon Specalization (Lightsaber), and the Jedi Knight Talent Juyo.

If being a bodyguard is an important aspect of the character, then taking a level of Soldier for the Harm's Way talent would be perfect. Once per round, as a swift action, the character can protect an an adjacent ally from attacks. All attacks against the protected ally affect the character instead.

I definitely recommend Skill Focus (use the force). It makes the character a much better duelist with the block and deflect talents, as well as better at avoiding detection, like RCR force stealth. It's much better for the character concept than Melee Defense.

Actually, his stats won't remain the same, since he has two *additional* stat points from 4th and 8th level. You can probably spend both of them to increase your charisma, but you cannot spend both of them to improve one stat that you have already improved through the level bump.

i.e. if you've spent both 4th and 8th level bumps to add to Dex, you cannot use these additional two points on Dex. If you spent only the 4th level bump on Dex, you can spend one of the additional points on Dex.

Also, if you *want* to pick up Mechanics you can. It is a class skill for Jedi according to the errata.
