Sahak of the nine colors! Spells and stuff.

That sounds like a fair division. And a good description of what he is, but you forgot the Quickened Dimension Door, although I think he would have the Automatic Quicken Spell epic feat (three times of course).

His spellbook would include all PHB wiz spells as well as the ones in this thread. I would also guess he should have a select few from Tome and Blood, FRCS, and Magic of Faerûn™. Perhaps one or two from Manual of the Planes and BoVD would fit also.

As for items...

I was contemplating on creating a Staff of the Nine colors, a staff with a spell from each magic school and one universal spell (of course).

I had also considered converting a bunch of Iouns from the Netheril™ campaign setting for the forgotten realms (a 2nd edition book).

I was also planning on giving him no less than 2!!! Mitril or Admantium Golem Bodyguards. (see ELH for stats on those).

But we really should finish Sahak before going on to his items.

Let's see what we've got:

Sahak of the nine colors.
Race: Tiefling (ECL +1, not that it matters much)
Class levels: ? (he is a 30th level wizard, should any of those wizard levels be traded in for levels in a prestige class?)
Abilities: Str 13, Dex 20, Con 15, Int 28, Wis 16, Cha 22,

And thats about it, so far...

Since he's of all schools, I dont know of any PrC's that would fit him. Most PrC's are dominated around one school or element. Since he believes in neither, no PrC's strike me as usable. Unless there is a "Vile Dominator" PrC :)

30 th. Level Wizard sounds just fine to me.

Skills
Diplomacy
Bluff
Sense Motive
Intimidate (Naturally)

Knowledge (Arcane, The Planes, Demonology, Royalty and Nobility) + some others

A little bit in
Spot / Listen & Search

Scry
Spellcraft
Alchemy perhaps

Not sure those are all the skills he would have, might need some more. He's got the skill points to have em though...

Feats, I think it's easier finding the Epic Feats first, then you have some of the normal feats "chosen for you", since they are prerequisites for the epic ones. Automatic Quicken is a Must, so is Epic Spellcasting. Perhaps Improved Spell Capacity and Improved Metamagic as well?

Sahak's Staff of Nine Colors

Gives 1 spell from each school for free every day (0-1 st. level spell)

Has 1 spell from each school at 1 charge cost (2-3 rd. level spells)

Has 1 spell from each school at 2 charge cost (4-5 th. level spells)

Gives a +5 modifier to the wielders Diplomacy, Bluff and Intimidate

Once pr. day, the wielder can choose to boost one of his Spellcraft checks with a +20 bonus (mainly used for epic spells).

well... let's see.

Skills:

Alchemy +?
Bluff (cc) +?
Diplomacy (cc) +?
Intimidate (cc) +?
Knowledge (Arcana) +33 (maxed out)
Knowledge (Botany) +? (he grows orchids, remember)
Knowledge (Outsiders) +?
Knowledge (the Planes) +?
Knowledge (Royalty and Nobility) +?
Listen (cc) +?
Scry +?
Search (cc) +?
Sense Motive (cc) +?
Spellcraft +33 (maxed out)
Spot (cc) +?

As for the epic feats, he can have as many as 7 epic feats (three of which are bonus feats). I suggest the following:

Automatic Quicken Spell (three times, allowing him to cast spells from level 1-9 as quickened spells without taking up higher level spell slots.)
Craft Epic Arms and Armor (to build epic golems.)
Epic Spellcasting (allowing him to cast epic spells)
and any two other.

As for non-epic he should have at least the Landlord feat from the SGB.

Should he have feats from the BoVD?

Edit: How do you calculate the cost for such a staff? and what is it's caster level?

Well, he could have feats from BoVD, I just dont have it so you would have to find them :)

Diplomacy should be maxed out in my opinion too. Bluff and Intimidate should be close to max.

Scry and Alchemy don't need to be maxed, perhaps only at +15 or something.

Knowledge (Nobility and Royalty) should be pretty high. After all, you gotta know the people you deal with, and it seems that Sahak is one that tries to keep himself on good terms with most nobles.
Knowledge (The Planes) and Knowledge (Outsiders) are pretty good for high level wizards, especially since he's an outsider himself as well. I would say +20 on both, at least.
Knowledge (Botany).... +15 at least, he can afford it after all and it's an important part of his character. Perhaps some Profession (Herbalist) on top of that as well.

Listen and Spot, keep em low, +5 is okay. Search only +2 or +3.

Sense Motive is pretty good too, since he's probably on watch for people trying to lie to him. Takes one to know one, isn't that how it's said?

He should have the Leadership feat. Not sure about Epic Leadership though. But he could have Improved Metamagic, thats a good, general purpose feat from ELH. And Craft Epic Staffs, if he wants a good staff.

Should have some more varied Item Creation feats of the normal kind. Off course, Craft Arms and Armor and Craft Staffs. Perhaps Craft Rods and Craft Wondrous Items as well. Metamagic, Quicken off course. Extend is always useful, so is Persistent from MoF. Empower is especially good if he has Improved Metamagic. Still and Silenced are also good for the dominating mage, allows him to use them without causing any suspicion from his targets.

Im very unsure about the Staff. I simply choose abilities that would be good for Sahak and the person that he is.

Let see...

Skills:

Alchemy +? (+15)
Bluff (cc) +? (maxed, roughly +16)
Diplomacy (cc) + (maxed, roughly +16)
Intimidate (cc) + (maxed?, roughly +16)
Knowledge (Arcana) +33 (maxed out)
Knowledge (Botany) +? (+15 or more, good place to dump extra skill points.)
Knowledge (Outsiders) +? (+20)
Knowledge (the Planes) +? (+20)
Knowledge (Royalty and Nobility) +? (+20?)
Listen (cc) +? (+4 or +5)
Proffession (Herbalist) +? (Another good place to dump skill points)
Scry +? (+15)
Search (cc) +? (+2 or +3)
Sense Motive (cc) +? (maxed? roughly +16)
Spellcraft +33 (maxed out)
Spot (cc) +? (+2 or +3)

The feats will have to wait a while.

I'll have the exact numbers by tommorrow night, as it is off to bed for me. :D

Alright, now it's time for Sahak himself...
Well, there aren't too many good, or applicable, vile feats for Sahak, but one that pops to mind is...

Corrupt Spell
Prerequisites: Evil alignment
Benefit: This feat adds the evil descriptor to the spell. Furthermore, half of the damage dealt is non-elemental unholy damage. A corrupt spell uses a spell slot one higher than its actual spell level.
Special: This feat applies to one spell. This feat can be taken multiple times, each time adding another spell that can be made corrupt.
I would homebrew a feat that allows for Corrupt Spell to be added to any spell the caster knows, at a cost of +3 spell levels.

Metamagic rods, from Tome and Blood, would be a good idea for equipment (if we're doing that yet)
Feats-wise you shouldn't overlook Epic Spellcasting. Not too good for assault spells, but beautiful for abjurations, stat boosts and summons. I would definately suggest Spell Focus for a school or two(I get the feeling from Clay-more that Sahak likes Enchantments). Also, if you have room for flavor-feats, Spell Thematics from Magic of Faerun is nifty (flower-themed spells, perhaps?)

Demiurge out.

Demiurge: Read a post by me a little farther up on this thread, epic spellcasting is among the spells I suggested. As for non-epic feats, he should have Skill Focus (spellcraft), and probably the epic version as well....
He doesn't really favor any school of spells over any other.

Now for the skills, here is the complete list (we forgot to add concentration, so I did).

Alchemy +10
Bluff (cc) +16
Concentration +33
Diplomacy (cc) +16
Intimidate (cc) +16
Knowledge (Arcana) +33
Knowledge (Botany) +15
Knowledge (Outsiders) +20
Knowledge (the Planes) +20
Knowledge (Royalty and Nobility) +20
Listen (cc) +5
Proffession (Herbalist) +10
Scry +15
Search (cc) +3
Sense Motive (cc) +16
Spellcraft +33
Spot (cc) +5

Later,

Looks good, do they add up (skillpoints / intelligence wise) ?

I think Corrupt Spell could work fine, but I think he's too intelligent to take Spell Thematics, especially if it's just for extra effect. Corrupt spell works okay since it can override elemental protections.
Do we make a complete spell-sheet for him or simply mention how many spells he can cast pr. day. The spell-sheet would make him more directly playable :)
