The bolt seems to strike true, but sails straight through the Gish that you hit (It's hard to tell which one is which due to the mirror image).

The Gish doesnt even seem to notice your attack or react to it at all.

The Gish still seems totally unperturbed by your attack, paying you no attention at all, focusing on directing the crew.

Yes.

The first bolt hits the bedraggled unarmored figure squarely in the shoulder and he yelps in pain.

Don't worry about rolling the extra damage.

Strength save = 11 (+3) = 14 so he fails and is pushed 15' back and into the Astral storm, disappearing from view.
