Monsters:

dry lich (LA +5)

Mmm, any reason the Dry Lich has a LA +5 vs the LA of the Lich that if I remember correctly is "only" +4?
It's more powerful?

I hope The Walker in the Waste won't have a LA increase when he becomes a Dry Lich...

Is Searing Spell the same as it was in the preview for february or does it now have a clause that fire subtype creatures aren't affected by it like Piercing Cold has for cold creatures?

Let's just assume that ".0bumps" is possibly code for, "Yes, it looks like a gila monster." Hmmm, I wonder how the rest of the editing is...?

It's a 10 HD, CR 7 animal that has a poisonous bite and the improved grab ability in connection with its bite.

IMO, with 10 HD, its a "giant" version of a type of the Mexican beaded lizard. Pretty good for futaristic games or Dark Sun type wasteland games. although a tiny regular version of the gila monster/beaded lizard would have been cool. I'm glad they added in a regular vulture. Good to see more offical versions of animals.

Thanks for posting all the info. Like races of the Wild my copy is coming from Amazon and won't be here till like...July :)

Boomerangs!

Alas there are no dire kangaroos or, even better, a desert-adapted dire koala (drop bear) but I'm sure they would be easy to stat up....

What about dire kangaroo rats with jumps of +20? :)

WotC has obviously listened to the complaints about repeating PrC features in the NPC write-ups for each PrC: the stat blocks now simply state, "See prestige class feature description".

So far the editing seems quite OK too, with the exception of the error in the giant banded lizard description that I mentioned earlier.

It's still the same as the Feb preview so we will have to wait for the errata.

The dry lich's touch attack is pretty deadly (5d6 dessication) so that might account for the extra LA. I haven't properly compared the two yet but perhaps will edit in some extra comments later.

There appears to be no LA increase for the Walker in the Waste.

Can you expand a little on the touchstones and on the psionics? You mentioned that there's at least one new power in the psionic scorpion so I'm betting that there are probably a few (maybe four-five) if previous books are any indication.

And yeah for WoTC listening to fans about the repeated information on PrCs!
