Agreed. Interestingly, there are a couple of comments about needing to destroy all five but nothing to indicate what happens if, say, four of the five are destroyed.
Is there any way to recreate the destroyed canopies?
Can the canopies be placed on different Planes?
Where does the Dry Lich reappear if destroyed?
As intimated above, the rules for this aspect of the template are curiously absent. It simply states that a dry lich resurrects 1d6 weeks after its apparent destruction.

I'd increase the delay by a factor for each canopy destroyed. 1d6 weeks for 0, 2d6 weeks for 1, 1d6 month for 2, 2d6 months for 3, 4d6 months for 4.

And I'd allow to rebuild destroyed canopy jars. There are rules for creating phylacteries in the MM, I'd guess there are similar rules for the dry lich, otherwise I'd just use the lich phylacteries as a guideline.

What, if anything, is there in this book of special use/interest to Rangers?

What, exactly, does a Distillation Kit remove? Salt? Minerals? Other stuff? Some combination?

Thanks for answering queries, by the way! :D

Canopic Canopies

Ehhh...apologies for the pedantry, but its canopic jars...not canopy, canopies, etc.
A canopy is a light covering or roof, sometimes made from cloth.

Here's a link if you are interested in the derivation of the term "canopic", and details on canopic jars and chests:

http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/canopic.htm

A suggestion for gameplay: When the jars are not kept together, it could weaken the creature, or perhaps when kept together, the creature could recieve some sort of bonus...just to make things more interesting.

Thank you for the correction!
I'm quite pedantic too, especially with rouges e dieties...

Yes, there are some variant ranger abilities: Heat Endurance feat instead of Endurance, Sandskimmer feat instead of Woodland Stride (thus helping the character move across sand) and Waste Hunter replacing the new favoured enemy at 10th level. Waste Hunter gives you an extra +2 in normal favoured enemy bonuses against one specific desert creature that is of a type or subtype that you currently have as a favoured enemy plus you get DR 2/- and +2 on saving throws against this creature's special attacks.

You can use this to extract water from body or cooking waste, salt lakes, poisonous plants saps etc.... It's described as a "solar still".

Thanks for answering queries, by the way! :D

You're most welcome.

I like that.

Yes, costs are listed and they are written up as a new magic item. My comments were that there are no rules beyond this but, of course, it's pretty easy to make these up.

My question is: how come it's out in Australia, but my copy isn't scheduled to ship from Amazon until 27 April?

Actually, I thought the first question would be about why, once again, it's out in Oz before everywhere else. Perhaps WotC is making up for all the times we've waited weeks after the rest of the world? ;)

I have stopped ordering from Amazon. ENWorld's game shop gets the books "on street date", and I have used them in the past. This time, I pre-ordered from GameOutfitter.com (after some good experiences with D&D miniatures there). The price is better than Amazon, and it arrived yesterday (on street date).

Would you plz tell me the price of the canopy or any other interesting details about it?
How dose the dry lich turn victims into salt mummy and sand golem? Does it have any other ability different from a normal lich (besides those abilities mentioned in previous posts)?
Is it possible for a arcane caster to become a Walker in the Waste? Or it's only for divine caster?

By the way, what's the monster Cursed Old One?

Thank you in advance! And sorry for so many questions. :)
