Sarah Silverman leads class-action lawsuit against ChatGPT creator

If it’s possible to replace a human worker with automation, they will be. And automation is getting better by the day. It’s weird that everyone knows this will lead to jobless and homeless people but don’t seem to care. That it might affect you later than others doesn’t mean you’re going to be unaffected. So who’s going to buy all the stuff once everyone’s out of work?
As far as art goes, or writing, it is banned on dtrpg, so don't use it. I wasn't buying any of it anyways.
but it's not banned on other sites so ¯\(ツ)

When they keep coming up, they have meaning. Also, bringing up where this is happening with increasing frequency is not anecdotal....giving multiple references outside of my own is the opposite of anecdotal. It's data. But if you want sources...and more sources
That is sort of the problem is that people are ignorant of how science works anymore. The "AI" which is not really AI, isn't producing dependable results, which makes it useless.
If companies are using it to replace people, it's literally not worthless or useless. It's got a $ value assigned that is driving those companies to make that decision to use it over people.

DTRPG is not the entertainment industry. Or even the RPG industry.

It isnt it? Instead we get these hilariously bad takes about how we are posting from computers, or how Ford put the horses out of work, or how we use Amazon, or whatever.

"It will be so great, when the robots are doing all the hard work, you can just like...make art!"

oops?

"Everyone" won't be out of work because for lots of menial labor jobs, robots are just no an efficient use of resources. You have to fuel and fix robots. Humans just make their own replacements.

Given a long enough timeline, everyone's survivability rate falls to zero. -The big British Book of Armored Warfare

Even more efficient processes "take people's jobs". I mean if you thought blender art was bad, hey hey, wait until you see AI art. I think people should fight it the same as they fought nft's, and companies tried adopting those as well. Ultimately the courts are going to side with the artists because of capitalism, and the media companies, aren't going to let their property just be appropriated. AI art as a tool isn't going away, it will just be exactly how it is in the AI art groups where people oh and ah over supposed AI art pics, where the artist only fixed it in photoshop for 10 hours. That's still a pic worth hundreds of dollars depending on who put their name on it.

Exactly. It a society that cares more about people than the profits of the exceedingly tiny minority, automation would be a blessing.

Yet here we are. Yet again reminded we are in the dumbest possible timeline.

How very reassuring.

Universal Basic Income paid for by taxes charged for employing automation rather than people.
Well, sure. But there are better pie-in-the-sky ideas we could just decide to implement. We can barely even get the rich to pay taxes in the first place so getting them to pay more taxes for saving money due to automation is a non-starter. All that's assuming we survive the climate catastrophe.

Which as covered in the other thread, is a great idea until the Goverment decides it doesnt like your politics and/or behavior and cuts you off.

Be a good citizen and earn your social credits, or maybe you wont get to book a flight eh comrade?
