A lot of these, I hear, have already been incorporated into D&D 3.5.
For myself, I really wish they would come up with some kind of mechanic in the RAW that would address the "Natural 1 always fails" thing. I feel like there should be a difference between a 10th level fighter saving against a DC 15 Fort save (always fails on a 1) and a 19th level raging barbarian rolling against the exact same save (always fails on a 1).
