For any interested in heirloom varieties, here's the site of a local company (Lane County, Oregon) that does such:
Territorial Seed Company
They've been doing this for decades; bunch o' hippies, if you (or "you-all") ask me.
Um. The name used to come from their location on Territorial Road; but they have since moved to the larger (ha, ha) Cottage Grove, OR (population 9,686). They moved there from Lorane, OR (population 389).
(That's not really a case of "moving to the big city," is it? But they actually were located on Territorial Road when they were in Lorane; that road runs right through Lorane, and was built before Oregon became a State, hence the name.)
