Scarred Lands: Ask the Sage (Going into Triple OT Folk!)

Oh, wise and mighty Nightfall, you answered my post on cities for campaigning (which I truly appreciate) and I was wondering if you think Freeport and Bluffside (did I get the name right) would fit for The Citadel of the Sun on SilverIsle, Termana? This is where I want to begin my campaign. Or would another city module work better? Thanks.

I think both could fit in the Scarred Lands. There'd need to be some modifications, but overall, Freeport and Bluffside fit in just fine (And yes you spelled them right)

Now would they fit on the Silver Isle? mmm not sure. I felt Freeport would be better in Bloodport. But perhaps it could fit on the Silver Isle. Bluffside...some where other than Termana. But yeah either or would work. You'd just have to modify the tone a little. Otherwise it's very doable.

yes it's only been two hours...but I like being on the front page.

Also question for anyone that use Scarred Lands,

What's your feeling on our resident god of the Dead/Grim Reaper? Reason for asking, I'm thinking about expanding domains to include the ones from WotC. But I wanted opinions from the rest of you. (I like to hear what people have to say.)

Dear Sage

What's in the Scarred Land's solar system?

Can you breathe in the Outer Space of SL?

Can you take a holiday on the moon?

Has anything nasty ever crash-landed on the Scarred Lands?

What is the CR of a Titan? Are they gods? Where are the Titans now?

We have two moons (one that shows up full every 25 days.) That's Belsameth's home (at least on the Material Plane). The other is hard to judge...but when both are out, better take cover.

No cause there's no oxygen.

Depends on which moon. But if you mean Belsameth's moon, Goddess of Madness, Murder, Nightmares, hey it's your choice. I mean we all have different ideas of a holiday. ;)

Define nasty. We've had coments, pieces of star metal, hell even Thulkas tosses out pieces of them at the Scarred Lands.

(Doing these seperately.)

Well let me put it this way, they killed gods, (some intermediate and lower), nearly obliterated the Slacerian God minds, reshaped the entire nature world to their whims, created druids, sorcerers and rangers. If they can do all that, I think CR for them is somewhere off the charts...

dead said:

No but they can grant godhood. They just can't grant spells. That's the whole point of the titans. They are powerful in the extreme, perhaps more than the gods, but they can't grants spells, they don't need worship, and they certainly don't die. Easily anyway.

Well let's see....Mormo is scattered into who knows how many pieces, Mesos was blasted over the entire material plane and beyond, Chern is lying comatose in the Mourning Marches, (this after fighting Madriel, Goran, Naltholas, nearly killing Nalthalos, then being chased off by Corean and Vangal, slew or at least rendered inert by the magic and fury of the forsaken elves), Gaurak no idea but he's buried some where with no teeth, Golthagga got chopped in half by Corean, and is now lying in two pieces. One piece at the north pole and the other the south pole. At least that's the rumor... Gormoth, got sliced stem to stern by Vangal while Chardun held him. He's lying in a crevice some where, one half far enough away from the other to just be a wiggling mass of titan flesh. Hrrinnruk, had his head chopped off by Corean after battling with Hedrada. His headless body wandered around for a while before his daughter, Tanil, kibblized his body. Kadum is at the VERY, VERY bottom of what is now the Blood Sea, churning out what would be his heart's blood...if he HAD a heart. Belsameth sliced it out of him, after Chardun bound him. Vangal tossed him in the drink. Golthain is officially dead, consumed/dissapiated into Denev. Denev, no idea where she is but she's around. She's the only one. Gulaben is locked in a box, after having her essence contained and chopped around. No idea where the box is, but you can bet she's upset, insane and just completely pissed. (She's also forgotten by most everyone as all record of her was obliterated.) Lethene is locked away in storm prison in Enkili's Realm of Limbo. She isn't getting out. Trust me.
Thulkas is buried inside or on the surface of the sun. He's been tossing out new creations at Madriel to show her he's still around.

So there you are.

In a completely unrelated vein with BoEM, BoHM, and now BoIM, I think it's safe to say I'm using more Malhavoc Press items. Especially since Mearls is involved.

So there's no oxygen in the SL outer space.

Is the SL setting very *scientific* about its presentation of the world. In other words, has the world been crafted with tectonic plates, climate, etc. in mind?

Is the SL world hollow? I imagine it would have a super-heated core like our own Earth.

Are there any areas on the SL world that don't make scientific sense?

Don't get me wrong, I like a more scientific world. If you don't have some basis in science then all hell can break loose. Just curious; 'tis all.

Not to my knowledge.

It might have...before the Titans showed up and then the Divine War/Titanswar. Now it's just messed up.

Well there might be an Underscarn...but only in pockets. But no reasonble sure it's warm/has a molten core.

Take about 300 miles out in any given direction. Trust me. With a Blood Sea, a land filled with abominations of all stripes, there's little sense in what happens. You either survive or you don't. That simple.

All hell already broke loose. And the Abyss, plus a few Far Realms.

Help with Half-Orc Barbarian NPC

OK all you scarred lands afficianados --

I need an NPC quick, a Chaotic Good half-orc barbarian, 3rd level, with a barbed greatsword (magic) and some throwing axes. A good history that fits with him being a slave, escaping, surviving. He also has an elf druid cohort.

How did he meet his elven friend? Why would he NOW be in the blood steppes? How would he meet a party hastily traveling up to Lave with the Sperpent Amphora, what motivation will he have to adventure with him?

I am slammed on prepping other things tonight, but anything would help. :)

And if you have a cool descriptive mini-history, that would be awesome. I'll even name the NPC after you. :)

Well here goes nothing Cat...

The history and character of Brunn "Rage of the Divine" of Clan Ravensblood.

Brunn was the product of rape by the powerful orc chieftian on a untried yet spiritual pure paladin. His mother, Lady Sivlaa Hylios, was a young recruit working the Plains of Lede when her party was attacked and most were summarily killed. The orc chieftian, filled with bloodlust and rage, took her as his prize. Lady Sivlaa though kept her faith, and when she was pregnent, prayed to the First Angel to protect her child and to her patron, Corean, to help avenge her plight. Both were answered, as Brunn would fulifull his mother ideas. His father, while having a number of bastards, instantly disliked him as he favored much of his human mother. While he was a skill combatant, he rarely fought and was more inclinded to diplomacy and peace. This led to the tribe wanting to kill him, but Brunn won the right to fight for the tribe. He had kept his mother's sword, Justicar (which had been used to kill her after she gave birth to her son.), and now with ease killed his father. The clan refused to recognize him and processed to stone him. He managed to run away and hide in the Keldars. Soon he was defending travelers. It wasn't until he came upon Calastian slavers, that his life changed yet again. They managed to over power him, at a high cost. But again, Brunn refused to break. He then landed, fortituously, in a slave pen with an elven druidess, Lasheyan Arden. Lasheyan had been a friend of his mother's family for some time, but recently had been captured while on a diplomatic mission between Vera-tre and Mithril. They managed to escape and now live on the borders hunting titanspawn and slavers.
