Scarred Lands Setting question

That sounds like its worth the admission price to get the Revised CC1 alone.

Well it's a little more expensive but the difference between the two is more monsters and templates for CC Revised. Besides they aren't planning on revising CC 2, (since it doesn't need it.) The reason for the revised CC 1 is mainly because that 1 is finishing out it's print run. Therefore it came done to the question "Do we keep printing more of the same mistakes and put out a HUGE errata, or make a new book with some of the same monsters, make a few templated, fix the whole lot of them, and add in some extras to boot?" I think you can see why they did so.

CC I&II are nessicary, Ghelspad is VERY helpfull. the Gaz will help you as well. R&R II has a lot of usefull info, I use it a lot in my game. If you don't already have R&R I&II then wait until the second printing comes out early next year before you buy them. there are a few errors schedualed to be fixed and IMO it would be worth the wait. Hollowfaust is usefull if you plan to run the game there but Ghelspad is ESSENTIAL:D

good luck with your game:p

You only say that because they've not done a Darakeene sourcebook yet. :p ;) But San has the right of it. I consider the Gaz for Ghelspad to be more of a player's primer, and the SLCS: Ghelspad more of the DM's perview (though there's not a lot of stuff in there that a player shouldn't view, just makes for more cumbersome reading IMO.)

Divine and the Defeated is a waste of cash, IMHO.

I wouldn't go THAT far. It does have some redeeming values, giving the DM some ideas about the Demi-gods as well as the worshippers of the Titans. I just don't think it's as necessary as CC Revised and CC2 are, along with R&R1 and R&R2 (which I deem necessary for new feats, Prestige classes that are fun and pretty great, as well as a comphrensive spell list from ALL the book printed from before R&R2 went into print.)

devine & defeated

the only thing I have used the devine and the defeated for (other then an interesting read and background info ) is to show the PC's what specific holy symbols of the Gods look like.

ghelspad

You only say that because they've not done a Darakeene sourcebook yet

And don't think that I won't buy it when it does come out because I expect to be one of the first people told about it so that I can give it a review (right after I check it for varification of the map that shows the provincial boundries!)

LOL

I guess I should break down and get a copy of the Gaz though. maby in January after I start my new job.

Darakeene is a really good place to set your game. the PC's can bear arms (and while civialized and less jacked up then most places due to the divine war) there is always the possibility of a bloody war of assession which I would capitalize on in a HUGE way if I were a player in the game and not running it!

I would agree with Hollowfaust, that is the best sourcebook/accessory d20 to date(my opinion). Scarred land is a very interesting setting. Very solid yet appears to have room for any dm's ideas. Can't wait till I get the books I ordered.

Hey Nightfall,

As far as the revised CC1 goes, do you know if it will feature new ( & better ) art?

I'm told it will have some new art pieces yes. My hope they at least fix the art for Silver Golem and Albadian Wardog. (I've complained about them for a LONG time, Biggie.)

is there an actual availability date yet?

There was a link about a few weeks ago and supposedly a release date saying the 20th of January. It's no longer there. However my hope is they just moved to the following Monday, the 27th. But I could be wrong San. It could be moved to early Feburary but that's not a certainity either. Joseph had said January but he's not in charge of the release dates so no idea.
