Schwarzenegger Top 10

1. True Lies - the perfect blend of action and hilarity. It's not just tongue in cheek action, but good tongue in cheek action. I've seen this movie a billion times and it always gets me. The cast was fantastically chosen, and Arnold is actually a great straight man!
2. Terminator 2 - an awesome action movie.
3. Predator - my friends and I have a running joke about this movie, so I always get a kick out of watching it. Plus, everyone has gigantic arms.
4. Kindergarten Cop - Wonderful. It has a ferret!
5. Conan the Barbarian - cause it's awesome
6. Conan the Destroyer - cause it's hilariously bad
7. Running Man - another enjoyably silly Sci-Fi flick.
8. Twins - silly 80s nonsense
9. Total Recall - actually not a huge fan of this one, but it's not terrible.
10. Arnold's Pizza Shop - this is not actually a movie, but a radio bit that I found on iTunes at some point. It's hysteria packed in 2.5 minutes!

As you can see, I basically favor Arnold's funnier movies.

Agreed, that's my #1 as well.

#2 - Terminator
#3 - Kindergarten Cop
#4 - Predator
#5 - Governator of California

The Terminator - even though T2 was a slicker movie with better effects, I just find the original to be a superior movie; plus the second one introduced all kinds of wacky time paradoxes (I actually wrote a paper on that in university for film class  )
Conan the Barbarian - still one of my favourite fantasy movies of all time.
Terminator 2 - Judgment Day - not quite as cool a story as the first, still all kinds of big-bang summer movie awesomeness.
Total Recall - Cheesy yes, but frickin' cool. Excellent sci-fi action movie -- plus he kills Sharon Stone!
True Lies - Such a fun action movie; a better Ah-nuld comedy than his actual comedy movies and fantastic action to boot. Even Tom Arnold came out looking good in this flick.
Predator - One of the most memorable movies from my childhood and one of the coolest movie baddies to come out of the 80's.
Commando - Even cheesier than Recall but still cool for its utter disregard for human life :p ; along with Rambo II, this movie helped to establish the concept of the invulnerable super-soldier who fought opponents with no aim. A good thing? Not really, but it is still fun to shut off your brain and watch Arnie kill bad guys.
Kindergarten Cop - His funniest comedy. Great lampooning of his own image (really, there was no need to make Last Action Hero as this movie accomplished that concept better IMO).
The Running Man - Another cheese-fest, but still corny fun.
Twins - Not incredibly funny, but still a good time (mostly thanks to De Vito I'd say).

This is seriously the worst list evar. Last Action Hero and Jingle All the Way before Predator? No Conan?! I'm speechless.
I'm not... I found the movies to be disappointing. The first one had some potential, but ended up being a boob and blood fest... and those utterly stupid Children of Doom! And the lack of monsters was a real disappointment... one witch woman and a giant snake that moved slower than my grandmother... whoopee. And the second one... yeesh. Low grade comic book script, dismal acting, and again, a lack of monsters... one demon at the end... whoopee...

23. Red Sonja
24. Hercules in New York

Man. And I thought everyone else had already forgotten these two. Can't decide on top ten but these would be the first two on that list.

1 The Last Action Hero
2 True Lies
3 Conan the Barbarian
4 Predator
5 Total Recall
6 The Terminator
7 Terminator 2 - Judgment Day
8 Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines
9 Kindergarten Cop
10 Commando? The 6th Day? End of Days? Eraser? Don't recall them well enough to say...

I don't even know what Jingle all the Way and Raw Deal are. ;)

24. Hercules in New York DVD

Now THAT's a bad movie! :p

Bye
Thanee

1. Total Recall
2. Commando
3. Conan the Barbarian
4. The Running Man
5. The Terminator
6. Conan the Destroyer
7. Predator
8. Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines
9. Eraser
10. Terminator 2 - Judgment Day

Not necessarily in order of quality, but the order I would watch them if given a choice. Terminator 2 is a better film than Conan the Destroyer, but, heck, sometimes you just want to watch a dumb movie where people stab each other with swords and Arnie wrestles a green monster man in a hall of mirrors. :p

1) Terminator 2 - Judgment Day
2) Total Recall
3) True Lies
4) Predator
5) The Running Man
6) Conan the Barbarian
7) Commando
8) Conan the Destroyer
9) The 6th Day
10) Eraser

I don't think I could come up with a Top 10 for my Govornator... I dislike so many of his films...

Conan was so-so for me when I first saw it, lo many years ago, but it has not aged well at all. Sure, a couple of good lines, but the acting and swordplay is so cheesy as to ruin it for me without MST3K.

Terminator is still good, veyr good. Then again, I always thought this was roughly the limit of his acting ability -- he looks huge, menacing, unstoppable. There is something about the scene where he traces down Linda Hamilton to that coffeeshop ... she looks so small and weak, yet this robot from the future still feels the need to haul out a BFG to threaten her. That really sets the tone for 1) how important she is to the future, despite initial appearances and 2) just how set his programming is.

T2 is a better action film, but it doesn't carry the impact for me that the first one does. Lots more booms, explosions, and fights, but my ultimate sense of it is that Ahnuld didn't want to be remembered as a Bad Guy.

Kindergarten Cop has two great scenes for me -- Ahnuld beating up the abusive father followed by Linda Hunt dressing him down and then asking, "How did it feel?" I used to work in a kindergarten class, I am very protective of small children, and I know how many grade school teachers feel on this topic -- we all want a piece of jerks like that. ;) Otehr than that, loathed the film.

As for Twins, Total Recall, Commando, Red Sonja, and Predator, I wish I could get my time back. And the rest I have not seen, nor am I likely to.

Ultimately, I am not much of an action film fan... :heh:
