"Science" as a power source?

Could science be a power source introduced in one of the later corebooks? Since there seems to be room for steamtech supplements later in the 4e release schedule once the basic stuff is out of the way.

Would Science even be the appropriate name for such a power source with most campaign ideas? Or does there need to be another name picked for it?

I can picture a Science Controller, as being like an inventor (or artificer) with a variety of devices/magic items that does sort of wizardish things. Elemental ray guns, alchemical tonics, mind-effecting subsonic beacons and the like.

But what would a Science-Defender, or Leader or Striker resemble?

Sounds like an interesting idea to me. Though, one might have do differentiate the "Age" of the science, as that is important.
