Science Fantasy campaign

No, you trust me! ;) :p I've tried too. In fact, I've done it successfully many, many times. Besides, have you ever read the Dungeoncraft articles that used to be online? That's how you build a campaign setting without spending nearly as much time and effort as you would to read one.

Read it? I downloaded and printed it. I was also upset they never got around to putting up the rest of the series, since I liked their take on "D&D meets Dino world." I can understand that they wanted to take time to put the articles up so as to make sure people bought the magazine, but by the time I even discovered the series, some of those mags were gone. Bad follow through WotC! Bad follow through! (and now of course Dragon has new owners)

New owners who have very disappointingly taken down those articles. Badly done, Paizo! Badly done!

D'oh! Now I'm paraphrasing Jane Austen on a D&D message board. :(

Look I am just looking for an alternative plan and simple ok. Dragonstar is D&D space, Gate Crashers is on Earth with elments fantasy future, Modern Awakenings is the same as Dragonstar so something has to be different.

All the other Scince Fiction is space opera which I do not want.

And I am looking for d20 so give me something different. If there is non a D20 game then cool.

Armageddon 2089 or Cyberpunk combined with the Four-Color to Fantasy rules for superpowers/magic.

Done and done, it seems.

If it "being on Earth" is a problem, it's simple enough to change a few names, draw up a new map with similiarly structured land masses, and call it a different planet- I've done it before in enough fantasy games...

Another good choice for a rules set would be "Big Eyes, Small Mouth", either the original or d20...
See, that's why this is a confusing question posed at the beginning of the post. After reading a variety of his posts in this thread, I don't think he's looking for a game, he's looking for a setting. In which case, this suggestion isn't very helpful at all.

Really, if he's so insistent, would it be that tough to adapt a setting from one of the videogames he mentions (Like Final Fantasy), or perhaps a novel? (shakes his head)... kids these days, don't want to do any work themselves... :P

Ok here is something I remembered. How would Skyrealms of Journe work for my search? I heard that someone wants to update the rules and use D20 system as well.

I was going to suggest Fading Suns, but you mentioned that Space Opera is something you're not looking for. I still think Erik Mona's suggestion of Iron Lords of Jupiter would be pretty darn close to the feel you want than most of what's out there...

Of course, whatever you can find on ERB's Barsoom would be worthy of consideration.

There was an ad in Dragon about a Barsoom campaign setting that was going to be published last summer. Obviously that's fallen through for whatever reason... :(
