Are those critters at the bottom possibly para-elementals?

They describe the ToEE as a labyrinthine set of dungeons...but this Adventure is clearly called a oneshot, which they have been running at Conventions since GenCon, it seems.

they describe the ruins the adventure presumably takes place in that way

“Beneath the Temple of Elemental Evil lies a labyrinth of tombs and ritual chambers. For years, these dungeons have lain in ruin. Now forsaken souls return, raising an army of evil to destroy the world.”

Still just a one-shot, so not sure it is much of a labyrinth

I think the mistake is assuming that this Adventure takes place in the ToEE: the cover shows a force issuing forth from the Temple...

would be odd to me if forces came forth from the temple and the module had the adventurers go to a 5 room dungeon somewhere else. Guess we will know in a few days

The description from @Christian Hoffer on the front page describes the PCs (the cartoon characters are the Pregens again, 4th Level thus go around) defeating the forces of an Elemental Evil cultists. Not going into the ToEE.

I am not expecting them to go into the ToEE but into the ruins underneath it, which are being described as a labyrinth, why else even mention them

My hypothesis, based just on the descriptions I've seen, is that it is dealing with an incursion originating from the ToEE. More Moathouse than full-on ToEE.

Branding, the ability to use that cover, setting them up to do a full T1-4 refresh in 2026?

That was my thought. Seems weird to hype up the ToEE in this “appetizer” and not follow through with the main course at some point in the hopefully-not-too-distant future (but yeah I’d be surprised if it dropped in 2025)
