Couldn't resist picking out a few of his issues in the totalitarian rant. It's usually difficult to understand Danish humour because it's - well - evil. This one made me fall of the chair the first time I read it:
"Criminal Strike Force
The Criminal Strike Force is a military team of convicted criminals. Given basic weapons training, identification markings, enough drugs to make them ignore pain for a while, a drug that kills them after 48 hours, and out-sof-date weapons with limited ammo, then give them suicide missions where they can harm our enemies and not hurt any civillians.
Reasoning: These guys are going to die anyway. Drop them into some place like Saddam Hussein's palace and let them act out their violent tendencies. Even if they don't kill the bastard, they do a lot of damage, and we lose people we wanted to get rid of anyway."
This is just to grotesque not to be hilarious! But really haven't we all thought a thought like this once in a while? Or am I just inherently evil
And these two I completely agree with and if people would like to call me a fascist because of that - go ahead - be my guest:
Reasoning: You kill someone, you deserve to die. You try to kill someone, you deserve to die. You torture someone, you deserve to die. Anything else, you should be given time to regret what you did and learn to do something productive with your life. Throw away that chance, it's your stupid loss.
(...again - problem with the death penalty is you can't be sure you get the real guy - but we are omniscient in this example, remember?)
"Reasoning: I'd kill every rapist with my own hands if I could. With no regrets. And I'm a pacifist."
Well said IMO. I feel the same way. But there's a long way from feeling this kind of resentment and disgust to actually acting upon it. And I'm NOT a pacifist
