End of Round 3

Out of the corner of his eye Grryth sees Alexia fall, surrounded by a horde of enemies. Acting purely on instinct he races around the closest foe and moves into the group of them opposite of where his ally fell. He throws himself into a spin as he nears the group, his axes flashing out into the ranks of his foes. As his spin comes to a stop, his axes continue their dance of steel, threatening to bite into any who are near him.

Noticing Alexia's dire situation, Garrick quickly moves closer to her and blasts the zone with arcane energy. Unfortunately, Garrick's aim was a bit off and he managed to catch both Alexia and Gurdan in the blast. Fiery energy swirls around friend and foe alike, blackening skin with its intense heat.

Lo-Kag moves to Alexia's aide as well. "Don't stop now Alexia, we got your back!" he states bringing much needed healing to the vampire. Then turing to his south and looking at the unsuspecting foe flanked by himself and Grryth, Lo-Kag screams as he strikes hard with sword, connecting with such force that the blade severs a fore arm. The creatures stares blankly at it the spot that used to be carrying its sword, then falls to the ground and dies as its blood flows freely. Lo-Kags comrades take note of the attack and find a boost of energy and an increased will to carry on.

Inspired by the carnage unleashed by him, Grryth and Lo-Kag, Garrick find himself feeling refreshed, ready once again to fight at full capacity.

As Lo-kag strikes the foe between them, Grryth feels a surge of refreshing energy pass through him and a fierce smile appears on his face in anticipation of finishing off the rest of their foes.

Alexia shakily stands. She turns to a nearby foe and asks, "What, you didn't like that song?" As she swings her blade, she grins at Lo-Kag. The gesture is probably supposed to be friendly, but the fangs give it a sinister cast. "Everybody's a critic." Alexia's vicious sword mentally grins to its owner as it rips open enemy armor and leaves a spot well exposed.

Master Thief's AC is less than 21.

Master Thief's Will is less than 25.

Forged Guardsman's AC is greater than 17.

Forged Guardsman's Reflex is 15.
Forged Guardsman's Will is less than 26.

Reforger's Reflex is less than 19.
Reforger's Will is less than 27.

The Reforger is rather accurate with their jagged tools (1d20+10). These jagged tools leave shallow, heavily bleeding wounds. (4 damage and ongoing 5 [save ends] )

The Reforger has the uncanny ability to blend in with his allies, using their bodies to shield himself from view.

The Reforger has an Aura 1 ability that allows all living constructs to roll a save when they use Warforged Resolve. If this save is a success, the user of W. Resolve regains the use of Warforged Resolve after gaining its benefits.

The Reforger is a rather fast constructor of metallic and organic parts and is able to repair his allies quickly. (Focused Tinkering: Standard action: Targets one living construct. Target regains use of Warforged Resolve).

The Master Thieves have a nasty sneak attack when they get the drop on someone. (1d20+13; 2d6+5)

The Master Thieves have an Aura 3 power that allows allies within the aura to shift 3 squares as a minor action.

The Forged Guardsman's attack is pretty basic, but it's enough to keep someone's attention. (1d20+9; 5 damage and target marked until the end of the FG's next turn.)

End Round 3

Gurdan reacts with a mixture of horror and appreciation after the display of carnage wrought by Alexia. So, she's really a...

Before he can complete the thought he refocuses his concentration on the battle at hand. He steps (1 sq N, 1 sq NE) toward the Master thief and attempts to lay him low. (Earthgrasp strike hits AC 21 for 17 damage. Can't get into the wiki right now - compendium to the rescue. Target cannot stand up until end of Gurdan's next turn. When he stands up before end of encounter, he takes 1d10+3 damage. Mark MT1)

[sblock=Forgone Conclusion] I could try to actually do something with the rest of this fight... but I'm pretty sure we know where this one is going... Do you want to roll the rest of it out, or move on to the next part? I thought I ALMOST had one of you (aka Alexia), but DANG! You and yer lousy 2 healers are makin' my life as an EVIL GM impossible! I have a reputation to keep (aka make) here people! SHEESH! ;) [/sblock]

[sblock=Combat Conclusion] I'd love to see a cinematic ending to this fight (as long as the judge allows it to go with no rolls). This fight has been quite interesting and deserves a good ending [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc] Hrmm... I hadn't thought about simply writing up a cinematic ending... give me a bit to think on this and I'll probably do just that ^_^ Thanks for the great idea! [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc] Sorry for being so absent lately, guys. School, work, and the Wiki being down have thrown me for a loop the last week. I'm going to try to find the time, today, to get a post in here to conclude this battle and get us going again. Again, so sorry for taking this long! [/sblock]

With only a few of their allies remaining, the warforged begin to panic. Moving as one, the heroes slash, chop, blast and obliterate all but one of their foes with ease. The remaining warforged, slowly backing away into the bloody corner of the copse pulls on a branch of one tree. A metal portal opens in the ground and the warforged jumps into the dark hole. The portal quickly closes, leaving the ground looking normal once again. Again the scene is quiet, bringing the bloody massacre to the forefront once more.

[sblock=Perception DC 25] It may have been your imagination, but you could swear that you heard the muffled sounds of Gurdis struggling and shouting in the hole that the remaining warforged jumped into. [/sblock]

"Well, that was rather... unexpected." grumbles Garrick as he checks out his own injuries.

"I've never drawn this kind of attention before, it's as if a whole warforged factory is after us."

[sblock=OOC] Blame it on the earthquake if you'd like but now I'm a bit lost... what were we doing? [/sblock]

ooc: That's a no on perception.

Alexia appears to be slightly hyperventilating. "Well, that was bracing," she comments between breaths. "I suppose we'll have to follow him down. I'm sure it's not a trap or anything." She grins at her joke, but it looks more like a grimace than anything else.

[sblock=The story so far]We had gone back to the "civilian" rail car, only to find that everyone inside was missing. We followed the tracks to this blood-drenched clearing, and then some warforged attacked us, and then you asked for a recap.[/sblock]
