The more I hear about RHoD, the more I want to get it so that I can see what all the fuss is about. Would most peopla agree that it is the best adventure that WotC have put out for 3.5? What about 3.x?

It's a toss-up between RHoD and Expedition to Castle Ravenloft for best adventure so far. There are a bunch more adventures coming out soon...

RHoD is a very strong adventure, that's for certain.

Cheers!

In 3.0 or 3.x? I think that I'll definitely be getting both RHoD and Expedition to Castle Ravenloft. So far I haven't heard any negative comments about either product.

I don't think there are many 3.0 adventures in the running. None in the original Adventure Path; I think RttToEE is inferior to RHoD, and I haven't seen City of the Spider Queen, but I don't think it measures up.

Wizards didn't make many adventures for 3.0 at all. :)

A note: I've run Sunless Citadel, Forge of Fury, The Speaker in Dreams, The Standing Stone, and Deep Horizon. In 3.5e, I've run Shadows of the Last War, Whispers of the Vampire's Blade, Grasp of the Emerald Claw, Sons of Gruumsh and Fane of the Drow, and I am currently running Red Hand of Doom.

Cheers!

Quick ratings from play:
Sunless Citadel - 4 stars
Forge of Fury - 3.5 stars
The Speaker in Dreams - 4 stars
The Standing Stone - 3 stars
Deep Horizon - 3.5 stars
Shadows of the Last War - 4 stars
Whispers of the Vampire's Blade - 3.5 stars
Grasp of the Emerald Claw - 3.5 stars
Sons of Gruumsh - 4.5 stars
Fane of the Drow - 3 stars (raised to 3.5 by the usefulness of the maps)
Red Hand of Doom - 4.5 stars... so far.

Cheers!

Sword and Sorcery has 'The Vault of Larin Karr'. Goes through levels 4-9. It's a mix of above and below ground adventures as you look for the drows hidden vault. The above ground areas consist of three villages, forests, and hills. The underground areas connect them all together.

The best part of this one, IMHO, is that it's non-linear. You deal with the advetures as you gain clues. If you run into an encounter you're not ready for yet, you best run.

I have the PDF of VoLK and it seems very interesting (at least the bits I have read). Do you think that the fact that it is non-linear and that some encounters might be much too powerful for lower-level parties makes it more difficult to DM than a more linear, status quo type adventure?
