Seeking one-shot plot ideas

See thread about oldest theory disproven. :)

A wizard places X number of orcs in a locked room in hope that they can recreate the greatest magical feats known. :) Sorry, but I see that as a interesting one-shot game.

Go hunting demihumanoids, go hog wild avenging the insults of the gods, gouge out the eyes of the elves, cut off the gnomish noses, put the smack down on those tricksy hobbitsses, err, I mean halflings.

Have them meet with huge successes killing and capturing many slaves, then turn it into a horror flick as they are massacred one by one on their way back to their home territory, use something from COC that they have really no chance against.

In a one shot going COC with its sanity bending horror half way through can be fine.

Whether the last PC standing figures out how to escape the horror or goes down in a big squelching shmush can be openended depending upon the orc PC's clever thinking.

I always wanted to run a game where a Faerie Dragon was animating snow men and having them attack people, not realizing that it was actually hurting them.

Just a thought.

Wanna give a rundown of the adventure?

Your players a gunks, young unnamed orcs of no prestigue.

A portale opens up and a 57 chevy drops through it to the ground below.

The players are sent to retrive the gift from Krom, their god. That is currently in the possession of gnomes.

Great chaotic fun

I always wanted to run a mystery adventure set around the Battle of the Bands!

Basically, the party includes a Bard (can be NPC if no players volunteer), and they are all travelling to a large caravan city for a huge bardic competition...and of course the parties Bard wants to compete.

Basically, the group learns early on that judges are on the take, there is mystery and underhandedness afoot, the guards are "looking the other way" ... and the competition is tough.

There are several ways to go with this...they can jump into the underhandedness with both feet...bribing, threatening, kidnapping, etc.

Or they can try to keep it honest.

Also, make sure you throw in rumors and innuendo about the "prize" ... (which of course turns out to be Bragging Rights - substantial ones, being that this is a once a decade competition).

This just always struck me as a great city adventure. Lots of fun...heck, if the party wants, you could even throw together a party of rogues/bards and the like...and have them all involved as a band.

Ok, attached is what I came up with. Still need to do some detail work (a map of the "supergoblin" lair) but otherwise it's mostly ready to go.

The PCs awaken as Boned Creatures (BoVD template). They then quest to find their stolen skins, currently being held by an Eye of Fear and Flame. I devised something similar "In Your Skin", for a Halloween adventure.
