Seeking Ravenloft Info

Tharian

First Post
My girlfriend has become very interesting in the Ravenloft material I have from AD&D 2nd ed. and has decided she wants to run some adventures using the 3.x rules. However,I see that the Kargatane site is no longer even viewable.

Does anyone know if there is a "new" group handling the official Ravenloft information or if there are some very well thought out 3rd party sites I can show her to give her the basics when using the 3.x rules?

Is White Wolf (through whichever subsidiary) still handling the hardcover books?

Arthus (WW/S&SS subsidary) is still committed to making Ravenloft books.

There are still 3.0 and now 3.5 HC for Ravenloft. Also I know there are a few Ravenloft releases due out this fall. (Masque of the Red Death and another called Legacy of the Blood: The Great Families). Gaz V is also available.

Kargatane took down their site but to my knowledge no one has truly replaced them. I do know the WotC boards has a Ravenloft Message board. And some Kargantane individuals do, on ocassion, visit this board. I have no idea what they are doing or what else is going on RL wise.

Ravenloft and Sword & Sorcery

White Wolf puts out the 3e Ravenloft material under their Sword & Sorcery imprint. You should be able to find their website pretty easily. Personally, they are the best people to be doing Ravenloft.

Won't disagree there, especially since they've hired Klaus/Claudio to do some art work for them.

Klaus rules!!!

(I just love VRGtShadow Fey. ;) )

yes the new vanRichten guides, do indeed, rule

The guides are better than the Gazeteers, that is for sure.

Check out the Fraternity of Shadows for an on-line Ravenloft community. I haven't tried it myself, since my Ravenloft campaign ended last Nov. and I am now doing a Wilderlands campaign. But it was recommended to me and the quick look I gave it made me book mark it.

also, if you want 3.5 books the DMG was available at overstock dot com this past week for 40% off. So were one or two of the Gaz's. I don't remember if the Pklayers book was available. remember the Players book replaces/updates the original 3.0 campaign source book.

I think the gazeteers are good too, you you have to be sure you're using the domains they detail... otherwise all that setting information won't be of any use to you.

www.alldirect.com is also good place for sourcebooks. Their regular price for most d20 sourcebooks are 38% off. If you feel like you're in the mood for a book-buying binge, they do free shipping for purchases at $99 and above.
