Sell me on True20!

Ya might wanna check out my Technothrillers product if the spy game interests you. I'll be uploading the revised version in the next 24 hours, and then it's off to get printed at lulu.com.

Also, I'll be putting out a Licensed Call of Cthulhu book - Shadows of Cthulhu - very soon, so combine that with Technothrillers and the Revised True20 Core rules, and you would do very well for a True20 Delta Green Game.
Should I ever get a chance to run for the summer program again I am likely to go this route. :)

Sadly, the program is on hold for this year at the least, and likely forever - funding has been getting slimmer and enrollment has been down. :( My classes were full, but many others were not. (And mine would have the same students year after year. Good kids.)

I am still picking these up - I may still end up running a slimmed down DG campaign in the future. The Technothriller book looks good, and I am always up for Cthulhu goodness. :)

Hey I'm sorry to hear about your program. I hope that gets up and running again soon.

Thanks again for your interest in our products. Shadows of Cthulhu is progressing nicely. It's in editing and the art order is getting formulated, so hopefully we'll be seeing this one go out in July.

Treebore's suggestions are spot on. Although True 20 is a neat and clean system, I find Savage Worlds to be very fast in play and EXTREMELY versatile. It can handle almost any genre extremely well and using minis is OPTIONAL. You can easily play the game without the mini rules at all. Castles & Crusades is also one of the very best systems as well. The SIEGE mechanic is extremely versatile and it instantly makes all d20 and D&D products prior to 4e completely compatible with a couple very simple tweaks. With the SIEGE mechanic you can completely do away with feats and skills if you wish or you can add them in. One of the great things about C&C is that the system encourages house ruling and customizing to fit your campaign.

Amazon finally shipped my True 20 Revised this past Saturday, so I should have it by Thursday. Once I have it in print I'll start reading it ASAP. I hate learning rules from a PDF.

I was under the impression that Savage Wolds was designed with minatures in mind.

Yeah, I have no idea how you came to that conclusion. . .

From the Explorer's Edition (the latest one):

'In these rules, we assume you’re using 28mm figures—the standard “large size” hobby gaming miniature.'

(. . .)

'It’s essential to have some kind of gaming surface as well, either a terrain board or a Chessex Battle Mat™. We recommend the latter.'

;)

I picked up the Revised Edition today during Free RPG Day.
Guess what I bought today? ;)

I was lucky. One of the LGS got a copy in today, and I just happened to be there when he was putting it out on the shelf. I also got a copy of the True20 Bestiary from another local store.

The True20 RPG rocks!!!

I already have lots of gaming ideas and the genre chapters in the back are a great addition to the book. I've decided to make my Dark World campaign setting a True20 world.

I thought minis were required as well? That's one reason I looked into True20 my wife likes minis and terrain but dislikes the counting out spaces/inches. I thought that was a big part of Savage Worlds??
