Settings you want to like

I would say that Talislanta and Avadnu setting are the ones i would like to see (or spaws).

Thanks for that. We're putting a lot of work into The Avadnu Primer. I have some preview artwork up on a thread in the design diary. Here's a link.

As for me, I'd really like to get Black Company and Blue Rose. Both sound like interesting settings with cool rulesets, but I don't know if I want to buy another setting that I may never use.

Birthright. I really, really want to like Birthright.

*bing!!*

There I got my wish. I realy *do* like Birthright. Now if only a half-million other people did, it might be revived in some form...

Not going to happen, sadly. Too bad.

Eberron

I expected I'd like it, I think it has a lot of great elements, but it's just... not enough.

I want robots - not denials. I want steampunk. I want pulpy over-the-top science fantasy. Basically, I want my pen 'n' paper version of Final Fantasy 6, and Eberron ain't it.

It makes sense, it incorporates (almost) all of D&D in a believable fashion, it has enjoyable flavor, but the reality is, I don't like the core assumptions of D&D nearly as much as I do many other settings. :(

Here's another one for the archives, Continuum. I really tried to understand the system but it was just a littlle out of my grasp. I really like the concept of the game, and I'd fully enjoy it if I could only just understand the ruleset around it.

Mutants and Masterminds.
I love the art, I enjoy the reading material involved. I would even enjoy some comics based on the M&M setting, but for some reason it just didn't work with our group. Not sure what it was, but it's sadly a game I bought that will remain on my shelf.

Ravenloft for me.

I wanted to like, bought the box sets, a few mods never liked. Got the 3e book, still didn't click with me.

Dark Sun for me... Now, don't get me wrong - I do like DS, but I've almost always used it as a stopover world and rarely as the focal point of a campaign. I fully admit that a lot of my complaints were basically... pretty petty.

I hate funky money for one - Dark Sun "ceramic" pieces? Dragonlance "steel" pieces? Ugh x 20. Next - Bottom line, I need metal IMC. Finally, it's just too monochromatic for the long term campaign. I like the premiss, but at the same time the premiss will always relagate it to the status of a stopover...

Cheers.
