Seven of Nine

I used to watch both Ally and B. Public and I recall liking both. I stopped watching Ally after 4 seasons and BP after one but I do have to say they were entertaining.

Although Jeri Ryan is sexy, she always seems to come in and replace actresses who I find sexier (Kes in Voyager, and Lauren Davis in Boston Public). At least she gets better acting opportunities in her current role in Boston Public than in Voyager (Seven had no personality, seriously).

Heh heh, "Boston Public" .....while I know its okay to bend reality a bit for entertainment sake.......but geez louise. I've never seen a teacher's staff stocked with so many hot babes in my life. Okay, its possible for one or two....but look how many are at Boston Public!

Now that's a school I wish I could have gone too!

She's currently on FOX's "Boston Public". I got hooked on it was watching "Allie McBeal". Yes, I'm not ashamed to say that I enjoy both shows...
I noticed a parallel between VOY and Boston Public. Maybe it's purely coincidental. :p

When Jeri Ryan became a regular on VOY, eventually the other blonde actress (Jennifer Lien) who played Kes departed soon after.

When Jeri Ryan became a regular on Boston Public, eventually a blonde actress who plays a teacher and former girlfriend of that Mr. Senate character, eventually left last season (she did not appear the beginning of this season).

Of course, I feel kinda sorry for her character role, which is having a romantic tryst with kid for a teacher trying to pass off as mature by growing facial hair. I mean have some dignity, at least date the former New Kids on the Block star. LOL!

There was a show in Britain called 'Teachers' that was a pretty realistic show about, you guessed it, Teachers. All the swearing, Incompetence and snobbishness, if it had been on once I had got my Job in my old school I would have had a very spooky 'am I being watched?' feeling.

Never seen Boston Public, but unless it has Teachers who have serious problems, and couldn't teach a white wall to be white, then it's probably not realistic...

One thing is kinda peculiar in Boston Puplic though:

The teachers are either wonderteachers that inspire stupid kids to try to be intelligent and opinionated, or are completely imcompent cocky arrogant fools that couldn't teach their way out of a paper bag.

The only 'middle-way-kinda-teacher' I can think of is the sexy black one (Marilyn?).

All I know is that becoming an educator is a calling, because there is no one would economically chose such an underpaid profession as a career.

The same applies to game designers. :p

Boston Public tries to focus on current school environment but at the same time glorifying the teaching profession. Some are based on truth, both good and bad, but the main cast usually ends up surviving end of the story.

You know in the Chicago Suburbs teachers average saleries for many districts are 60K +. Not bad for a part time job. Needless to say, much of the country may suffer from lack of teachers, but Chicagoland does not.

I'd be interested to know where you get that figure. From the teachers I have spoken with, that is not the case at all. The going rate is much lower...
