As for the sex... its more a question of establishing social position... I do like to reinforce my Alpha Male status... its all very natural.
You wouldn't last long at my table with this attitude.

Your point? Organized religions* claim a lot of things that their own holy scriptures fail to support - in the absence of some serious contextual twisting, anyway. While this may call into question the theological validity of these attitudes, it doesn't make them any less extant - or any less influential.SHARK said:Well, the Song of Solomon, a canon book within the Holy Bible would certainly dispel any validity to those attitudes. In addition, nowhere in the Scriptures does it say any of those things.
I'm not holding up the theology as an argument, tho'; I'm just saying if your local preacher says "sex is eeeeeeeeeevil", you can argue until you're blue in the face whether he was theologically justified in saying it - but whatever conclusion you come to, it doesn't change the fact that he's saying it, and that at least some of the people he's preaching at are probably taking his word for it.Rashak Mani said:Penguin Monarch dont get into theological mumbo jumbo...

First its Sarcasm
Second its would be my Druids attitude...
I recomend anyone who has a chance to read a book called Mythology of Sex... very good... gives a view of sex and religion outside the Judeo-Christian tradition (which is mostly very tight up and very paternalistic) and would be a good source of how "alien" religious practices can be in relation to sex and Co.
