Sex and Character types

Greetings!
That's right Voadam! Where would the right feel be if there weren't brothels everywhere, with lascivious women dancing about. Ah, yes, debauchery and wholesome relationships alike all have a place in my own campaign! Conan without some yummy thing on his arm? Where would he be?
Yeah, I have players that do, well, different things at different times, too. Some characters are all into debauchery, orgies, and brothels, at every city, every opportunity they get! Meanwhile, other characters are more concerned with developing solid, romantic relationships that are generally monogomous, and on occasion, even inspiring.

I recomend anyone who has a chance to read a book called Mythology of Sex... very good... gives a view of sex and religion outside the Judeo-Christian tradition (which is mostly very tight up and very paternalistic) and would be a good source of how "alien" religious practices can be in relation to sex and Co.

Your point? Organized religions* claim a lot of things that their own holy scriptures fail to support - in the absence of some serious contextual twisting, anyway. While this may call into question the theological validity of these attitudes, it doesn't make them any less extant - or any less influential.SHARK said:

(* granted, in some cases it would probably be more accurate to say "significant factions within major organized religions", to account for religious organizations that have tended towards lack of a unified voice in recent times.)

I'm not holding up the theology as an argument, tho'; I'm just saying if your local preacher says "sex is eeeeeeeeeevil", you can argue until you're blue in the face whether he was theologically justified in saying it - but whatever conclusion you come to, it doesn't change the fact that he's saying it, and that at least some of the people he's preaching at are probably taking his word for it.Rashak Mani said:

In RPG I am worried about Clerics that preach SEX and LOVE and dont actually get down to doing some !! Or Religiously bent PCs that avoid sex without any religious prohibitions...

Well the sarcasm part was lost to you... its not how my druid is played... its how he could be played overdoing sex... but I wont confront what is obviously a very aggressive Alpha Female...
