Sex and Character types

I agree with arcady. There shouldn't be much of a difference between character classes... it should be up to the individual.

Many Barbarians could have strong taboos about sex, while some Paladins might see sex as the ultimate religious experience.

Wizards: Most wizards tend to be bookish and eccentric, caring little for love and sex while they persue their study of magic. Of course, there are exceptions (Elminster).

Wizards are all homosexual
Bards (and diffinately Elves) are mainly Bi
My Tantric Yogi-Monk is insatiable

Shaman are all Transvestites too (but thats not really a sexual orientation)

Estrus versus Menstrual

Not meaning to hijack but as an aside - What humanoid races would be Estrus vs Menstrual?

Estruc Gnolls ?

imc Gnomes are all hermaphrodites. Only 1 female develops for each 100 gnomes and she mates with 1 - 5 'mature males'. This female is a Clan 'Queen' and all gnomes within the clan are eusocial (acting like a Hive)
(based this on the Smurfs in which of the 100 Smurfs only 1 (Smurfette) was female and the only mature male was Papa Smurf - Hefty was possibly developing male tendencies whilst Vanity was probably developing female characterisitics (or was simply a poof))

Of course, Rashik Mani never claimed his Druid was lascivious... maybe his goal is reproduction rather than gratification.

<volefisk>

I try to avoid the reproduction thing only when in Wildshape... those female animals can bite and scratch a lot...

As for the sex... its more a question of establishing social position... I do like to reinforce my Alpha Male status... its all very natural.

I agree completely... Barbarians can be very supertitious and full of taboos... Paladins are usually portrayed as uptight... and it shouldnt be necessarily so... but try to get my DM to beleive in my message of spreading love and harmony this way !!

At any rate, in response to your more serious note, I think you are wrong. Unless you invent "maidenweed" alchemical concoction (yeah, I know FR has something like that) or a "contraceptive" cantrip, characters of all stripes are likely going to be rather cautious owing to the possibility of pregnancy. This isn't the modern world we are talking about. And I imagine natural type would be even more keen to that fact than those that might have been brought up in a civilized society where teaching such matters to unmarried youths might be considered taboo.

It seems that you forgot that their is several ways to do it that do not provoc pregnancy, my grandma had only four children, but she didn't do it only four times (she said it, and with a grandma like this, I'm still wondering how I should understand the grandma rule).

I must say that though I see your wise way clearly I will point out that through this sacraficial deviance from this boards otherwise high standard delivered by the moderators we might accomplish something important. If we here set the normally unspoken steriotypes we will prevent such unfitting conversations to take place around the gamingtable in the future. Let the immature get a chance to settle within the safe boarders of our community. Let them be prepared for their final confrontation with the darker side of our souls so that they will not engage in unfitting behaiver or thought that might cause people to look down on our way. Let us take this chance to nurture the future of the gaming society. .....;)

hmm

I'm not sure I understand that. It's not permissable to have a mature conversation about a mature subject? I would add a warning to the header, but that's it. I don't see the problem.

I do think there are several stereotypes on sex and classes, paladins being chaste being chief among them.

Anyway, some of you might be interested in this:

Greetings!

Dr. SHARK has arrived!:)

Well, I must admit that I don't really see a *class* differential concerning sex. There are going to be clerics who are very strict, puritannical, and monogomous. Then there are those clerics who are libertines, and embrace all manner of depraved debauchery and lascivious behavior. Other classes will in a similar fashion be the same--they will approach such with their own individual personality weighing in, as well as their culture, their parents and upbringing, as well as the doctrines of their religion. Thus, you have very different attitudes by different individuals.

Having said that, Dwarves tend to be strict and monogomous, Elves tend to be liberal until they are married, and humans range the whole spectrum. Other races fall into these approaches as well.

Dr. SHARK checks his appointment book, looking for the next available session for your physical...:)

Semper Fidelis,

SHARK

Just because the world we live in is, generally speaking, sexual repressed (especially in religious circles), doesn't mean that your fantasy world should be.
