Just to be clear, the one behind us is the one that does not want to fight right.
If so I will cautiosly walk by him and go down stairs to try to find doggie and return to help.
If he is wanting to fight I will aim and fire my cross bow it should still be loaded from earlier.

Corran's face turns grim as he steps up to do battle one more time. He looks not at the brute's leader, but at the two heavies who are just following orders. It didn't have to come to this. You didn't need to die for nothing. He moves just north of Lorth, forming a solid line of denfense in front of Genithar.
[sblock=ooc] If he can make that as a 5' step he will spend his move action pulling out his container of alchemists fire, and then will throw it at the heavy opposite him. Otherwise he'll just ready his morning star, since his shield was already on. [/sblock]
ooc, is Matthew still disabled? He's only sitting on 5 non-lethal...

Leaning heavily against Mathew, as the aberrant's leader calls for blood and his men respond, Genithar throws off the facade of the wounded cripple.

With a fluid movement, the Wizard stands straight and even, throwing back his robe as a hand shoots out, flinging a solid dagger at the greatsword wielding warrior across the room.

Shouting, 'Be gone those of the Broken House! Your task here is fruitless and bloodshed will solve nothing! Right is not on your side!'

Shooting a glance over his shoulder, the elf barks, 'Go Mathew! Men, the smoke!'

action point on attack, please. let's kick some tail, guys!

Showdown: Round 1

Stepping to the fore, Corran pulls forth a clay jug and lobs it at the heavy in front of him. The throw his too high, however, and smashes uselessly behind the target. The splash does cause some burns. [Missed! Splash damage to all.]

Throwing with all his might, Genithar hopes to get the leader. But the gnome's cover spoils the shot, and the dagger clings heavily against the wall. [Miss due to cover w/ AP]

Faster than the rogue can react, the artificer springs forward. The door slows him down, however, and he knows navigating the next room will be difficult.

The two heavies draw their wicked looking bastard swords, but do not move forward immediately. With dark red and blue flashes over their bodies, they call forth their tainted power. The one by the door is suffused with the blue-black glow on its left wrist, while the other focuses on the shifter. Lorth feels fear assault his mind, but after a moment of vertigo, it passes! [Unknown spell affects; Lorth makes a save]

The two rogues make a break for it. The first shoves past Mathew, and clumsily makes his way through the disordered room. The other tries to get past the heavy, but with a sneer and a yell of "Traitors pay!", the thug cuts down his former compatriot! [Rogue killed]

Remembering the plan, Balnibar breaks open a smokestick and tosses it aside. Smoke billows forth! Genithar and Cheep can no longer see the battlefield, but the main group is now concealed!

The lurid scar on the brute's face glows. The glow disappates with no apparent affect, but the man grins evilly. Come out, cowards! Your death is inevitable!

Frustrated with his missed attack, but reminded of the plan, Corran also draws his smokestick and tries to cover himself and some more of the room.
[sblock=ooc] I'll aim to fill the squares Lorth and I are in, and the two just in front of us.[/sblock]

Smoke billowing around him, the Wizard shuffles North, ducking under Cheep as he retrieves his crossbow and smoothly loads it.

Blind to the action out front, Genithar keeps his keen eyes open for any sign of hostiles, hissing urgently at his allies, 'Balnibar, conceal yourself in the fog to strike unseen! Defensively hold the line!'

ooc;5' step into Cheep's sqr, draw crossbow, load crossbow. Any chance Spellcraft was able to ID any of the spell-likes used?
