SG1: An Old Friend (Wik Judging)

The brute shouts, "Liar! We know th'dwarf is hid'n someth'n!" The other thugs grumble. The kobold, however, make no such outburst. Instead, calmly, it speaks. "A faulty memory can be re-awoken, though the means are not pleasant. Do you offer any proof of your claims? Otherwise, less clean methods must be used to verify."

Ignoring the brutish aberrant's outburst, Genithar nods at the kobold responding matter of factly, 'Come come sir, do you truly believe we would've left any stone unturned to find the information you desire? We would rather conclude this matter without further blood shed or these unclean methods you refer to. Nay, our employer is quite sure of his recollection and futhermore, what need would he have of such an Artifact? Are you suggesting he stole it from his traveling comrade, the Prof? Not only that, but smuggled it back to Sharn under said Comrade's nose and then proceeded to sit on such a miraculous find for a decade? To what end? Regardless, both your own minions and my group have searched this building and we have not found any evidence of the artifact, have you? To answer your question though, we have in our possession documents which corroborate these truths. Should you like to view it, perhaps we will allow this. The matter of our own safety is still unresolved and we would ask that some of your men depart from this chamber. Out onto the bridge would be acceptable, so you may call them, should they be...required.'

Feel free to jump in anybody! I'm flying by the seat of my pants here! Woot! SToneGod, another sense motive, please?

[Sense Motive]

The kobold's voice is calm, and hides his true thoughts. The brute, however, is getting impatient. And for the record, so you understand how well you did, you rolled a 20.

The kobold smiles toothily. "I regret to inform you that I do not command my employer's hand. It is in your best interest to let me see this 'proof', however."

The brute looks at his minions. "We ain't goin' nowhere. You show us now, or we'll take it from you!"

ha! What a blufftastic MOFO this Kobold must be!

Shrugging, the Wizard replies in a logical tone, 'Battling us for the documents that will prove our point seems rather counter intuitive, does it not? Very well though, we shall produce our evidence. I hope you shall agree that we have been most eager to fulfill your requests and have denied you nothing. Keeping that in mind, I do hope you'll understand that my next request is non-negotiable.

Leveling a long narrow finger at the kobold, Genithar proclaims, 'I will only show the documents to your mage and only once he is among my group. You have my word that his safety is assured once he is within our fold, provided not a single hostile action is taken against us and that said documents, after review, are returned. Agreed?'

The kobold's grin remains, apparently unfazed by the demand. "I will look over them, but I doubt we are leaving this room." Assuming the group wants to show the papers over in their 'huddle corner', the kobold will go to them. It will not, however, allow itself to be surrounded.

Corran tries to stand with strength and conviction, working as hard as he can to hide the nervousness he's feeling. Then, hoping not to disrupt what Genithar is working on, he speaks up.
Actually, I must disagree with my friend on one item. We have not, in fact, hunted through the entirety of Mr. Thunderbanner's den. There is a chance that one of us, the one with the best knowledge of our employer's own profession, Corran gestures towards Matthew, might uncover something important downstairs, if you would allow him to look. It might be just the clue we need to figure this whole thing out.

The Wizard respectfully waits for Corran's request to be answered before continuing his negotiations, though his face gets slight glower at the youth's words.

ooc; redclaw, you rule. nuff said.

"If need be one of your men can come with me perhaps. I will look downstairs to find any more evidence that may prove or disprove what we have already said." Mathew slowly moves toward the door until told otherwise.

The brute yells, "NO ONE LEAVES! If you have proof, as you say, show it now!"

The kobold shakes its head. "You claim to have proof, then ask to get more? That is not a strong bargaining position. Let us see what you do have." It waits to be shown 'the proof'.

OOC: Good idea, bad timing, I'm afraid.
