A group of four w/ Aldus, but I don't have my notes here. Koldoran is human.

Let's move forward

Still leaning on Corran, in the middle of the pack, Genithar says more loudly towards the hostilesm, his tone upbeat and hopeful, 'Gentlemen! I am pleased to report our employer has been able to answer your questions and concerns. I take it you have heard of the Koldoran Piece, yes?

The brute's brow furrows, obviously confused by the question, but the kobold is less overtly responsive. "I know of a Koldoran. Professor of Giantish Histories, specifically in ties to magical history. Am I to believe that Master Thunderbanner has in his possession this piece, and this is the item my employer seeks?"

Brows furrowing, Genithar responds in near exasperation, 'I am obviously unable to confirm what it is your Master seeks, though this affair would be much easier if you'd simply tell us what it is you want from our employer.'

Taking a deep breath, he continues more calmly,' I can say, though, that it is my belief that my group has discovered information which will bring this matter to a close.'

The wizard then adds with a smirk, 'Prof. Koldoran is keen to retrieve the piece though, no?' as his almond shaped eyes search both the large warrior and the smaller mage for signs of recognition.

ooc; I'd like to get a sense motive check on the Kobold's answer to the question as well as the Heavy Leader's response, if any, please.

[Sense Motive

The kobold is inscrutable, and his feelings on the matter are well hidden. The brute looks confused, obviously not knowing the name.]

The kobold cocks its head to the side. "I know of Koldoran obliquely. If it has not been made clear, my employer knows Master Thunderbanner is involved with some aberrant marks from Xen'drik, but not the specifics. That is the information we seek. If the dwarf had some association with Koldoran that would shed light on these events, we are listening."

Pressing his mouth together in a frustrated line, as his opening gambit does not pay off, Genithar continues the conversation in careful tones, 'Tis true that our employer traveled to Xen'drik in search of an ancient artifact, along with Prof. Koldoran. But, before I reveal the conclusion of their quest, I would seek assurances that once our business in complete, your forces will withdraw. Can we come to such an accord?'

"I have been employed to find this information, that is all. I have no interest indiscriminate slaughter." The brute says nothing, just glares impatiently.

The wizard nods, responding matter of factly, 'I have your word then, sir, that you and your allies will leave this place and our employer in peace, once I have provided all of the information we have been able to gather?'

"You have my word on my part, assuming we can verify this information's veracity. I cannot vouchsafe my employer's decisions, of course." The brute looks at Genithar daringly.

Shrugging in the 'I guess that's all I'll get' way, the Wizard nods once and responds, 'Of course. As you may know, about a decade ago, Herr Thunderbanner, Prof. Koldoran, and two others went in search of an ancient artifact of the fallen Giantish nations, the Koldoran Piece, as it was called. It was said that this object was inscribed with marks similar in design to aberrant dragonmarks that began to manifest some centuries ago and continue to this day.'

The wizard nods at the hulking leader, continuing, 'It was rumored that this piece had something to do with the Draconic Prophesy that has become the providence of so many scholars and sages. Koldoran believed he may well be able to decipher some sort of insight into the reasons for Aberrant manifestation and indeed, after a long and harrowing journey, the group was able to procure the artifact. Unfortunately, as the group made ready to sail back to Khorvaire from the lawless lands of Stormreach, their prize was stolen from out under their noses. Indeed, gentlemen, the Koldoran Piece has been lost again, since that day. Our employer has no idea of it's whereabouts, and his recollection of the quest is sketchy at best. It seems to me, your best avenue to discover more on this subject would be to speak with the man who sponsored this outing, the afore mentioned Prof. Koldoran. As we can attest to, if you're searching for the Artifact, this avenue is a dead end. Please take your queries elsewhere.' This last is said with an air of finality, as if the matter was closed.
