SG1: An Old Friend (Wik Judging)

Mathew will triple move (I believe he can do that and I know it is difficult terrain in the room) and move down stair As Quickly As Possible.

Showdown: Round 2

With a snap, Corran fills more of the room with smoke. At the same time, the shifter lobs a sling bullet. The trajectory is wide however, and he clearly misses. [slategray][AC 7 misses][/color] Behind them, the elf wizard slips into Cheep's square, readying his crossbow.

In the next room, Mathew shoves past the rogue through the junk piles. The rogue returns the favor and then vaults over the bridge, disappearing below.

Wading into the smoke, the two heavies feel about with their swords. The first thinks it has a hold of Corran with its magic-encased fist, but the cleric dodges out of the way. The story is repeated with the other, whose sword swings wide of Lorth. [Both miss]

Balnibar bides his time, waiting for the brute to approach. As the man wades into the fog, the gnome curses---he cannot hit a weak spot so long as the brute of fog-bound! [Concealment negates sneak attack] The gnome thrust with his rapier, but it is shunt aside by an invisible force! [AC 15 misses]

Bellowing threats, the brute finds his target and cuts Lorth down stern to stem. As the shifter gurgles and falls forward, the brute yells, You're all next! [Hits; 9hp; Lorth dying]

ooc; ahhh, crap. things just got a bit tougher

Mouth pressed into a line of firm determination, Genithar silences his first impulse to cry out in alarm at the Shifter's fall.

Then, with the steel of a Karnnathi upbringing in his voice, the Wizard yells behind his back, 'Hurry d'Cannith! Hurry! Fight on, friends!'

Holding his stout hunting crossbow in one hand, the elf quickly crouches among the thick smoke, reaching forward for his fallen ally's body, attempting to find the potion on Lorth before deftly feeding it to the fallen faithful of Dol Arrah.

Corran strikes out at the brute, hoping that knocking him down will send his heavies fleeing.
[sblock=ooc] move equivalent to draw morningstar, standard to attack at +0. I'll use an action point to boost it. [/sblock]

Showdown: Round 3

As Lorth bleeds, Corran pulls forth his weapon and raises it high above his head. With a shout to the Host, he brings the weapon down---only to have it bounce off an invisible force. Its only then that it sinks in. "A shield! He's protected by a magical shield!" [Lorth fails to stabilize. AC 19 (w/ AP) misses. Spellcraft check succeeds]

The wizard grimaces at the announcement. With the breastplate and the magical protection, hitting the foe directly would be difficult. He needed the shifter monk! Diving for Lorth's bag, he finds the potion and pours it down Lorth's throat. The shifter's eyes fly open, his wounds closed. [Fully healed]

The artificer flies over the bridge, down the treasure hall, and the flight of stairs. He can now see the room the two other guards must have been in. A simple sitting room, with a few decorations. But the main prize: The unopened door, that if Aldus is right, leads to the homunculi. But would they still be hostile?

The two heavies continue to swing their weapons. The one in the fog is disoriented, and its swing goes nowhere. [Failed due to concealment] The other reaches for Corran's shoulder again, but the priest just barely manages to duck under the grab. The malevolent tingle singes! [Miss]

Unable to find a better vantage, Balnibar presses his attack. Instead of helping directly, he jabs repeatedly, trying to assist Lorth. The tactic seems to work. [Brute distracted (aid another)]

Chuckling maniacally, the brute easily brings his sword down on the prone Lorth. The wound is less this time, but stings terribly nevertheless. [Lorth hit; 5hp]
