D&D 5E "Shadowblade" (modified soulknife) - feedback requested

Oh, I didn't realize shadow blades could do that. What sort of action does that take, though--action, bonus action, reaction? It might still be enough of a tradeoff to balance out.

I wouldn't worry about giving too many uses of misty step. He's already a rogue and thus can dash or disengage with a bonus action. There aren't that many situations where misty step does something cunning action can't already do. I can attest to this as a player of an eladrin rogue -- most days I don't wind up using it at all, let alone once per short rest; it's mainly a "get out of a grapple" ability -- occasionally make a long jump or get to the other side of a barrier, but none of those things are all that common.
