Kelsey is a pretty cool person, she was in the publishers private discord, helping out with advice, and how she did what she did to make Shadowdark a hit.

Maybe what I (and maybe we) are feeling is that Shadowdark needs to feel a bit more heavy metal. A number of the artists in the core book aren't game artists, but are part of the black metal scene, which I think makes a difference in the vibe.

Sure. But go too far in that direction and you're in Mörk Borg territory.

I can't say that I've spent a lot of time looking at Shadowdark, but I got a notification about this Bundle of Holding of Shadowdark adventures and I didn't see it mentioned here, hope you enjoy!

Yeah, I mean I understand the appeal of the grim and dark, but most of the book is honestly more like this.

Right? It's like we need a new term for the darkly comedic that you find in a lot of OSR stuff. It's not grimdark, it's either so grimdark it's turned a corner and become comedic (like Mörk Borg), or it vaguely approaches grimdark but lets out a nasty fart before arriving (most others). Goofdark maybe? Campdark. Pantodark.
