I think it should be fine. If worse comes to worst, character creation is quick, so a few empty sheets should work fine without going overboard.
Can even speed it up with shadowdarklings, connectivity/equipment permitting.
Yeah. There is always a business center available so I can just whip up a few more between sessions if one was particularly bloody.

I love Shadowdarklings.net. I can make interesting pre-gens very easily.

I am doing a sort of wet marches style con game, with 5 seats per session, 4 sessions total. Some players are playing multiple sessions and will be re-using characters if they survive.

So, what is a safe number of pre-gens? I am thinking 20, assuming repeat survivors balance out deaths. Is that enough?
My default is for a single game of old school D&D(ish) is to have around twice or so as many characters as players in case of TPK (like in a B/X game just make two characters of each class, 14 total, for a table where I expect 5-6 players), but your rationale is reasonable.

In your situation I might go 25 just to be on the safe side.

New KS: Demidirge
Art looks very interesting, and I remember some of the earlier books/zines as being on my radar. Has anyone here tried the older stuff, or know of any reviews? Because I would most likely get the complete bundle, because that's just how my brain works.
I am trying to be a little less trigger happy regarding kickstarters, as I now have a few under my belt that I would probably not get, in hindsight.
Lazy Litch's stuff is always great, although wildly idiosyncratic.

Having seen some of their art on reddit/*****/artstation that's a good sign. I think I may go all in on this one.
LL usually has the book pretty close to done before crowdfunding it. The KS's I've been on have all delivered quickly.
Good to know!
The art, design, and ideas in LL's stuff is really really good. They're very fun to read or flip through.

They tend to lack polish/specifics though that make them more challenging to use for actual play as-is. Specifically I tried to run Wind Wraith which was very challenging to use and ultimately didn't give me all the tools I needed to make a campaign with it.
Did you manage to use it in play in some capacity? Thar style has me hooked, though, so may get it just for the aesthetic value alone.

I don't own this book. I own a bunch of his earlier works, including Woodfall, Willow, the Haunted Hamlet and I think another one. All of them are weird and moody and very cool. I could definitely see taking the crunch from Cursed Scroll #1 and using it with any of those four books to great success.

In particular, Woodfall would be a great home base for a Shadowdark campaign and Willow is a great place to start/escape from a new campaign.
