Another similar idea I'd like to try sometime is to run an adventure location once, but set in the 'past' of the campaign world, and then write all the changes from that game into the location and run it again hundreds (or whatever) of years later with alll kinds of changes, but also evidence of that previous group.

Even if you just jumped each game forward by 50 years or so, that would work well and be a nice easter egg hunt for returning players.

It's (almost) here!

@here Hey you all! Gary Con is almost here... and we have some fun stuff to share!

Are you running any kind of Shadowdark game at the con, or playing in one?!

Well then GOOD NEWS -- you are already participating in Shadow League! So that means you're eligible to start collecting free swag.

Game Masters are the focus of the League, but at cons, we are able to see and support all the players rolling dice in the Shadowdark, too.

So come by our booth (111) if you are a Game Master OR player and get your free Shadow League patch (the back is double-sided velcro for sewing on or slapping onto already existing velcro... sooooo fancy)!

We'll also be taking down information for anyone who wants to count their games run toward their points total once we get the website up and running.

Points are what gets you more free swag in the Shadow League, so why not?!

FINALLY... it is with great delight that I get to say we are debuting the first official adventure written specifically for Shadow League (and general Shadowdark, of course) by non other than the incredible and masterful Joseph Lewis of Dungeon Age Adventures!!
Lurking Fears is going to be running numerous sessions of The White Crypt Hungers, the first public peek at this adventure.
I'm also going to be publishing The White Crypt Hungers as a standalone book closer to the summer as an official Shadowdark product.
It may come as no surprise to those keeping a close eye out, but the second writer doing a custom adventure for Shadow League (and general Shadowdark) is none other than the magnificent and insanely talented Brad Kerr!! Keep an eye out for more on that!

We'll all be talking adventure design in a seminar at Gary Con, along with the intrepid Michael Putlack, master of monsters and frequent Shadowdark design consultant.

I'm thrilled to finally share these updates with you all and say the Shadow League will be in its "beta launch" at Gary Con. See you there!

Time for me to stop dilly-dallying on the home base I was going to build out for Shadow League play and to hit up my FLGS about running Shadowdark and Pirate Borg games.

And I probably need a big goth hourglass.
I usually don't use the torch timer but one player this weekend was very into it. It made me realize that I should have something impressive and intimidating for the in person timer.

Also, I need to find Shadowdark evocative Luck tokens. I have been using poker chips but I can do better...
