Shadowfell Keep with D&D XP Warlock Questions

First Post
One of my players really liked the Warlock class from when we played the D&D Experience module at the FLGS a few weeks ago. She really wants to play a Warlock for KotS, but I'm a little apprehensive about doing so because I have no idea what to give a Warlock at levels 2 and 3. I don't want to make her feel left out when others get nice Level 2 and 3 abilities, but I don't want to overpower her either.

Do you guys have suggestions on what to give the D&D Experience Warlock at levels 2 and 3?

Won't you have the core books by the time they reach second (and certainly third) levels? The core books will be on sale all over in about two and a half weeks. Even before then you can probably ask on these boards for someone who gets the books early to just share a warlock 2nd level power to get you through until you get the books yourself.

I expect us to have between 2 and 3 game sessions before the books come out, so it's hard to say. I don't know what the pacing is like really, or how quickly we'll level.

I think that level 2, at least, seems conceivable.

Thanks for the feedback. If the pacing is how you guys say, then perhaps there is nothing to worry about.

So, maybe they might hit level 2 by the end of the 2nd session? That might work out rather nicely then. I guess I'll bring all the pre-mades to the table, and allow some tweaking based on what info we do have, then we can adjust and tweak at level 2.

I'm running KotS Thursday evenings. I'd already started my 4E campaign 5 weeks ago in three-hour sessions. My players had just hit level 2 when I got KotS. I was quite happy to be able to level them up using the Utility powers from the KotS pregens.

I had to come up with a Ranger utility. It took me awhile to level them all up (I'm doing all the character work myself until the books come out, my players just got to pick their race/class/weapon combinations) but it worked out pretty good.

I'm liking level 2 4E even better than level 1.

Anyway, the plan is to allow the players to rebuild the characters from the ground up when we get the books.
