A dwarf walks into the shard, and heads over for a brief discussion with Brews. After some money changes hands, he orders a drink, quickly downs half of it and turns to the room with an annoyed expression.

"I'm Jonah d'Kundarak. I'm with the Warding Guild, and I'm looking for a team to do a test run on one of our products before we turn it over to the client. The client's paying extra to have an independent test of the security functions, so we're looking to subcontract. Any of you lot have some skill in breaking and entering?"

Samarik grins, and replies, "I'm pretty good at the breaking-things part. Are we talking natural defenses or those of the supernatural?"

The dwarf scowls.

"By breaking and entering, I don't mean to encourage the breaking bit. We still have to sell the thing after it's tested you know. In fact, there's a bonus if the breakage is kept to a minimum."

He thinks a moment, then grudginly provides a few more details.

"There are a variety of guards and traps, magical and otherwise, not to mention locks. I helped build the vault itself, and if you even get through that far I'm confident we'll stop you there."

"Pay scale is as follows. Your group will get 500 gold on sign up. Your progress will be measured in stages. First stage is simply getting inside the estate, that's worth a thousand gold. Second stage is getting to the vault itself, that's worth 2,500 gold. Third stage -- and our gold is safe in this regard -- is getting inside the vault. That's worth 5,000 gold. Serious breakage will cost you 1,000 gold off the top, no breakage at all is worth a 1,000 gold bonus."

Samarik looks interested. "I've heard of this kind of a job before, but never expected to come across one myself." He nods and looks over at Fritz. "You should come along, Fritz. I'm sure you'd be able to contribute." The grizzled fighter examining the dwarven Warder for a moment, then spoke, "So how large of a party are you looking for?" And how exactly does this Dwarf define 'serious breakage?' he wondered to himself.

"Our contract calls for a team of 4 to 6. We'll need to certify to our client that it was a serious attempt to penetrate the system, and we'll monitor your progress throughout."

"Well, I'm in. It seems as though the adventure I came here for has flubbed, leaving me with some spare time." The fighter flashes one of his rare smiles. "It sounds like an easy way to make nine thousand gold, because there wasn't a structure built that could keep me from a good profit."

Jonah d'Kundarak takes a look around the room at the others present before turning his attention back to Samarik.

"Are you going to be able to put together a team from those present? One or two bravos won't satisfy my house's end of the contract, needs to be a full team."
