"Illusions, you say? Hmm...well, what it could be is a force-feedback phantasm of sorts with an affinity for a certain type of person...a person who is somehow connected to the spell, perhaps guided by the tiniest threads of Enchantment. I am somewhat of an expert in these sorts of magic, as Weapon can attest from our recent encounter with a belligerent half-orc," Alysina conjectures, offering her aid to those in distress.

Downing her newfound drink (A strange, greenish-black liquid Brews poured from an old, cobweb covered bottle simply marked GROG) in one gulp, the half elf woman grimaces in revulsion for a second, then turns to Brelach.

"Well I didn't exactly stop to count but yes, I think every marked in Dura felt it. I and my brother both did at any rate... hit my damn head on a bloody halfling's ceiling when it happened, and the few marked that come down to this place at this hour are all out throwing up over the clifftop or gawking at the view. Apparently there was an explosion down on the waterfront at about the same time as these attacks. You can just about see the flames from outside if you stare down the cliff."

She shrugs. "My brother and a few of his more bold friends apparently got it into themselves to see what was going on down there... stupid fool. Whatever that... thing in the shadows was I want nothing to do with it. The Sentinal Marshals can sort it out tomorrow morning."

"Dragonmarked...Hmm, if the Dragonmarked are all affected, it might have something to do with the Dragons and all those mysterious things I hear about them. This is just like Merlock Gnomes and the Mystery of the Dragonmarked Band!--It turned out that the band was actually a snake, but you should still read the book, it's good--Should be fun. If the Dragonmarked folks need any help, I'll take the case!"

Brelach nods as Alysina talks, and makes a note to bring her along when he investigates the trouble. He wasn' a mage - he took the spell; someone else would have to study it.

Listening to the woman's tale, Brelach does his best to appear sypathetic - and it works alarmingly well. His face softens, and he nods gently. He even puts his hand lightly on her arm to encourage her to speak. After she finishes her tale, his face hardens once more.

"We should go to the waterfront, sooner better than later. You should come with us, Miss. I'm going, in any case." He turns to look at Alysina. "You're coming, too, I think. And bring that Tin Man next to you... it seems to like you."

Brelach quickly gathers his things. "Anyone else can come, if they want to find out what's going on." he announces to the room. "But I get the rights to any new spells."

OOC: Hey, I kinda like playing the jerk. Does this make me a bad person? ;)

*Alysina nods.*

"I see two who were affected" (OOC: Arvin and Silvanon have posted so far) "Weapon I know we can trust as a strong arm, so with me and you, that's five of us."

*Alysina turns to the half-elf girl.*

'Hmm...she's supposed to announce a name, though the half-elf + Dragonmark thing makes d'Lyrander a likely ending.'

Brelach nods. "Five. Five is good. Could be six, seven, or eight hundred, for all I care, though."

He turns to the woman. "You said something about a 'thing' in the shadows. Armed? How big? Give me details." he grins sardonically and turns towards weapon. "If we come across it, Tin Man, that's your department."

Weapon looks down at himself a moment. "Tin is not one of my constituent metals. Poor tensile strength, and not as durable as adamantine. Which, as you can see, even entropy eventually conquers." Another metallic raspy sigh. "But I will handle what may, assuming the Chosen will have me."

ooc:Aak! Sorry about the lack of a name. Made these posts while I was doing other things and wasn't really thinking. In any case, I'll make one more post tonight or tomorrow then I'll start the adventure thread. Number-wise I'm looking for four to six people, at least one of whom should have a pure dragonmark, so the current arrangement should be fine.

Bennit glances towards the forming group, shaking his head a bit incredulously. "Yer sure y'should all go harin' off, chasing some dangerous shadow?"

His eyes turn towards the big metal construct, glancing up and down the artificial body. "Not meanin' to disrespect his talents, of course, probably bett'rn far n'mine, but he's only one construct, and you might see mor'n one thing if yer all right and this is some conspiracy, not just some kinda dragonmarked hubbla. If yer needin' another strong arm, I'm Bennit bel-Roan, atcher service."

"I am NOT marked," Arvin says enthusiasticly, with a bit of anger in his voice.

"But I'll gladly go with the rest of you to investigate. It seems I am called as well."
