Shatter Spell and Potions

Does the Shatter spell affect potions? In the description it says it only affects non-magical objects. However is the glass surrounding a potion magical?

Thanks!

Yes it does. There's nothing like blasting his potionbelt to piss a hero off.
However is the glass surrounding a potion magical?
The glass is perfectly mundane.

Ya, it works.

In a previous campaign the PCs paid big money to get metal pint sized containers to hold potions. That and they are reusible.

shees did you guys just fall off the turnip wagon.

who the hell puts potions in glass containers. Totally unsuitable for dungeon delving, or any other strenuous activity.

Has anyone here every taken a standard thermous on a hike, I can almost garuntee you that the glass inside will be broken within an hour.

potion vials should be carried in leather, or metal containers.

Doesn't the the spell say there is a Will save to negate the affect.? Is that only for attended objects then? Is so, does the object get it's owner's Will bonuses to save? Does that make sense? Do unattended objects not get a save at all? (Don't have my PHB handy.)

"Spells can be cast onn objects which recieve a saving throw only if they are magical or if they are attended (held, worn, grasped, etc) by a creature resisting the spell....."

The reason the person makes the saving throw is because they resist the spell for the item. And for Shatter that is a Will save.

Yes, Will negates (object).

Yes. Nonmagical, unattended objects never get saving throws. Attended items always get saves.

Yes, it does.
