Which arcane defensive spells do you think would be a problem?

Honestly, I'm not sure. That was my gut reaction, and the area of concern that leapt out at me.

As an example, though, I suspect that the protection offered by Mirror Image, coupled with the high AC from Full Plate, would probably provide significantly better protection than any other character can gain at that level (say, on a Fighter 1/Wizard 3).

The high AC due to the fullplate won't help the images.

No, it helps the caster.

At the moment, a dedicated warrior attacking the caster has to beat Mirror Image (1 in 8 chance, or whatever), then beat the caster's AC. However, because caster ACs are so low, this latter roll is generally fairly trivial - the warrior will hit more often than not.

Now, if you place the caster in full plate, suddenly that second roll becomes much more of a factor. Now, in addition to beating the Mirror Image (the same 1 in 8 chance) he also has to make a difficult roll to beat the AC. It may well be a defense that's just a bit too good at that level.

As I mentioned, though, that was just my initial reaction to the idea of Wizards in armour. Whether it is actually a problem or not, I don't know.

1 in 2 chance. Unless someone has a readied action, Close your eyes and trust the force. Blindfight is one of those feats that actually matter a lot in high level combat as concealment becomes far too useful.

If you close your eyes, you still have to guess which square the Wizard is in. So, that's a 1-in-8 of the squares you threaten (although, given the placement of the images, it's probably a bit better than that), then the 50% miss chance, and then the AC. I don't see how that really helps.
