Shocking Grasp errata - permanent?

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but I didn't see any threads in the past 20 pages or so so I figured I'd bring it up.

Has anyone noticed that the PHB errata (corrections file) changes the duration of Shocking Grasp from 'Permanent until discharged' until "Permanent until dispelled'? That's a pretty major difference, and it seems to me that it would make this an exceedingly good 1st level spell.

So what's the verdict. Does this make sense to anyone or does the errata need to be errata'd?

The only thing I can think of would be to allow you to cast shocking grasp and not immediately use it when you touch someone, basically you could save it until the time is right.

Yeah, it definately seems like a more powerful version of it, considering you its a fire and forget spell until you need it.

"Hey George, how's it going?" Shakes hand
"Hey Bob.... bzzzzt" "Sorry, Bob. Forgot about that joy buzzer:)"

Didn't notice that about shocking grasp. Sounds like a good 1st level spell.

But then again, my DM might interpret "Permanent Until Dispelled" differently.

It still follows the rules for holding the charge of a touch spell.

You think? It seems to me if that was the idea then the original duration was a lot clearer.

At any rate, my intent is to still use it the old way.

You'd think that, which makes the change even more mysterious because frankly that the only rationale I can think of for the change.
