That is because so few people can find a use for open tundra beyond filming nature movies.

Edit that: Boring nature movies. Although I bet $10 Canadian that you could get a grant from the government to film a nature movie about the Tundra: Cold and Lifeless.

Not that I'm really bashing anyone, but do you think anyone who couldn't strip mine, make cars, or nuclear plants wouldn't? To think otherwise is quite racist.

edit: speelling

racist? how odd. And no, I don't think "anyone" who could make such things happen would. Foresight might do some good here.

Genocide is population control? That is such a sick and repulsive comment that I am no longer going to respond to this thread and very much suggest that the moderators close this thread down.

You ARE one sick puppy. Hitler could have found a job for you.

no, population control = good for the planet. You know, the one we live on? for now. Thanx for the Hitler remark:confused:

I think that any culture would do those things. People are people, you know?

edit: I could be wrong, but we live in the world we do.

Every culture on this planet given the chance has taken it.

Well, except the ones that aren't around any longer. That is a very interesting point, if you consider the evolutionary implications.

When I lived in Boston, my friends made fun of my Canadian accent. I eventually taught them how to use "eh" properly. (As a statement that you want confirmation on - "Nice day, eh?") The funny thing is, I had less of an accent than they did. Sure, I said "Aboot" and "Oot" (and, since we played Star Wars, "Zed-95 Headhunter"), but that's not as bad as, "I pahked the cah at Havahd Yahd."

You had less of an accent? Compared to what? From here in the South, it sounds about the same to me.

The universal truth of linguistics is that no one has an accent. It's just everyone else that does! ;)

Evolution is a matter of biology. Culture is purely learned behavior.

As an example no matter how well you raise a chimp it is always a chimp.

On the other hand you could track down a newborn from the most primative culture on the planet and bring him or her to America and 20 years later you wouldnt be able to tell that person was anything but an American. There would be no residual evidence of the origional culture the newborn had been taken.
