Okay, so here's my question. A player of mine threw a character concept at me a little while ago, for use if his current character bites the dust in the WLD game I'm running, and I wanted to get opinions on it, as it's a bit unorthodox.
A bit of backgroud first... The group is made up nearly exclusively of Small characters (halfling rogue, halfling cleric, gnomish paladin, gnomish sorceror, and a xeph soulknife), and has taken to calling itself 'Teh Nutbusterz.' It makes for amusing RPing.
Back to the character concept. The player wants to play a Thri-kreen, only he wants to play one that's been shrunk to Small size. I'm not sure whether to allow this, or how to justify it. This also brought up the question of whether you could do this with other races - Small half-orcs? How would you justify that? I don't know if a simple Permanent Reduce would work, or if there's a better spell for the situation... thoughts?
