Siege in the Stonespike Mountains (Boddynock Judging)

(OOC: Splendid! I thought B4 might live and require a beating from Z. In that case, B1 and B2 are killing themselves and B3 is reasonably injured and can only reach the construct this round, since the construct is blocking the charge to Charlarn. Also, attack roll of 21 misses the construct, not that it matters since the duration of 9 rounds will likely expire before the construct takes 68 damage.

In that case, Zaeryl's work here is done--combined with Iggy's Tentacles and Planus's Confusion, they managed to achieve total battlefield control by this round. Z will draw and fire his crappy crossbow at B3 to conserve PP. Might as well. And with a roll of 2, he misses miserably.)

ooc: That's what I meant when I said "eluding a parting shot" -- the AOO was a miss.

The Battle Continues
Zaeryl fires a crossbow, in a (failed) effort to demonstrate he's still paying attention. He seems to feel victory is assured.

B1 smashes B2 intB1 and B2 v each Other (1d20+14=21, 2d8+10=22, 1d20+9=15, 1d6+3=4, 1d20+14=23, 2d8+10=17, 1d20+9=20, 1d6+3=7)

B3 charges, and manages to hurt the construct. As Zaeryl predicted, the hurt isn't significant. Charge v Consruct (1d20+16=33, 2d8+10=13)

[Iggy is up.]

(OOC: Construct has DR 5/Magic, so unless they had magic, it actually did 8 damage)

"We could have created several more or chosen a more powerful form, but we felt that this one was sufficient to deal with these small fries," Zaeryl agrees with Planus.

Iggy also will resort to his crossbow. "Hah! Take this!" he shouts.

OOC: OK. rolled 12, +8 is 20 vs B1. Dmg 1 from a previous roll in which I used a d8 instead of 20...

Charlarn of Phyrah: male human cleric 6/ranger 2

Seeing the terror that is the Astral Construct, Planus whoops, "Hey, hey! I'm glad that thing's on our side!"
Charlarn says over his shoulder, "You're telling me. It's cutting through them like wind in the winter." He turns back to his foe and hammers it with Goruksblain (1d20+8+1=17, 1d20+3+1=21) and his shield (1d20+6+1=24). The weapons deal damage (1d8+4=6, 1d3+1=4) totaling 10 pts of damage.

AC 19, 20 vs. B3
HP 43/50
bless in effect: Each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.

Status
Charlarn (Bless) 7 damage
Zaeryl's Construct
Zaeryl (Bless, Inertial Armor)
B1 (Confused) 48 damage
B3 42 damage
Iggy (Bless)
Planus (Bless) 25 damage

Round 5 Begins
Charlarn attacks B3, dealing 10 damage. The enraged lizardman does not fall.

[Zaeryl and his construct are up.]

*Zaeryl's hope is to take down B3 and then stick the construct so it is standing closest to B1 and in the way of any possible charges. This would require taking down B3 for certain with one construct attack. As such, Zaeryl readies to Crystal Shard B3 if the construct doesn't do enough in one attack so that the construct can still disengage and block B1.*

(OOC: For Construct, 24 hits for 13 damage. Zaeryl gets a modified 9 (it says 8 but I forgot Bless) on his touch attack and 12 damage here and here because I'm a moron. I'm hoping 9 is enough to hit a size Large raging Barbarian who just charged on a touch attack though. That should be enough to drop, and then the construct can block the confused one from killing Iggy.

1 additional PP spent on the shard)
