Loxos. The 3.5 version of the Giff.

Actually, almost any animorphic race; I'll admit a strong racist streak against furries.

I remember this creature from the 2e Fiend Folio. I believe it was called a "stwinger" or something like that. It was basically a naked little female pixie/sprite fey creature that would swing on a dwarves beard and put them to sleep. Read that again. :\

The Yikaria are great! My first reaction when I saw was that they were stupid, but upon actually reading it ...! Definately yoinkable for space operatic games, though I admit it might be appropriate to change the physical description in such a case.

There was a 2nd Ed Fiend Folio? So far as I recall, there were only monstrous compendium updates. I could be wrong. :uhoh: During the heady days of 2nd Ed, there were a lot of creatures that didn't make it into my campaign. At least it was simple to take their sheets out of the binder....unless they were on the flip side of a useful critter....

Unless you're making this up, this thread needs to be closed now. Because that wins as the silliest monster ever, hands down, with no debate.

The stwinger is real ... um, I mean, such a thing was indeed published, I've seen it, don't remember where. I don't think I read it that closely, apparently,'cause I'd have remembered an ability that stupid

My vote has to go to the Ubue, three armed, three legged humanoids with three heads, one of one sex two of the other. These legendary beast came from the original version of the Palace of the Silver Princess, The one that was pulled before it was released. I think the same module also had the dreaded bubbles also. Honorable mention to Giff, Yak Men, Tortles and Snappers. I also remember the Stwingers I think they had a related creature in the listing as well.
