Single guys and gaming (yet again)

qstor

Adventurer
FYI - all. I was really bored at work and searched on "gaming" on match.com and got over 12 pages of hits. A few of the women were attractive. One reminded me of Dragongirl :)

So single gamer guys there's hope out there yet....

Mike - married to a non gamer who hates RPGS.

The other night I was babbling to my girlfriend (who doesn't game) about the adventure I'm writing, and she said, "You're cool. My boyfriend's creative!"

:D Now that's a good girlfriend!

Yep... I met mine on EQ, lol. Risky I know, but wonderfully, it worked wonderfully for me. She's a hard-core gamer... nothing better then having the woman you're in love with complain that we aren't gaming enough :) (not that it happens often, hehe, but if we miss our weekly game she'll gripe about it :)).

You lucked out. A buddy of mine "married" a "girl" who turned out to be a "man." He had even talked to "her" on the phone.

Now this just sounds like bad day-time television talk shows.....

About 6 months ago, there was a thread highlighting a matchmaking service that was basically filled with girls that liked "geeky" things.

Well, Meepo, we knew each other for a year and a half before we got romanticly interested in each other... we talked on the phone and went on to meet in person. After about 6 mo's of a long-distance relationship, she moved in with me :)! (we lived 1,000 miles away from each other, ouch). Anyway, she's a gamer, into alot of the geeky things i'm into, wonderfully smart, amazingly charming and completely beautiful :), so I definately lucked out.

We were both aware that a relationship which started like this has alot of hurtles and we both knew that the odds of it working out weren't great... I tried not to fall completely head over heals until she had moved over here (not that it worked :P), I didn't want to go through the terrible heart-ache of showing up at her doorstep and she changing her mind at the last minute. When she moved in we agreed to live together for one year and if we saw we weren't right we'd split up, hopefully without too many feelings hurt... well it's been two years now and we're thinking about the next step in the relationship :).

P.S.: Our EQ characters never did marry though, we both quit playing when she moved in :).

i can't remember where i saw it, or how long ago, but i remember someone once showed me (maybe a couple years ago?) a personals service that was tailored to geeks. most of the women (and even the men) on there were of above average intelligence. some of the fields to fill out included what type of a geek you were, and what sort of geeky things you were into. some very interesting stuff, really. if i could remember the address, i would post it here.
