Eanos, human monk

Eanos frowns a moment, then points to a spot near the base of the wall.

"There's a hole here," he says. "You don't suppose that's the portal?"

He approaches cautiously, investigating the hole.

[sblock=OOC]Spot check (1d20+15=33)

OOC: oops, missed the call for a spot check!

spot check ( not expecting anything very great here) :
1d20=7

"Huh? Vaht spreken zee hole ?" the north lander is completely cluless, as usual.

I'll assume everyone follows Eanos to the hole, unless you tell me otherwise. Including Michael, who had initially started in the opposite direction.

The hole is wide enough for one human (or similarly-sized creature) at a time to let himself down. It starts a downward sloping passage; without entering, you can't tell where that leads.

If you decide to go down, tell me in what order, and whether anybody's going to wait at the top.

OOC: I'll be away next week Mon-Thurs.

ooc: just make sure you return please!

ooc to all: who gets to be first? meat shield pendrake or the sneaky one? I prefer our sneaky monk, personally.

The group files down the tunnel and soon loses all light from outside. What are you using for a light source?

The tunnel is a rough passage cut out of the stone. After a short stretch you reach an alcove on the left, while the main passage continues. The alcove is about 5' deep and ends in a smooth wall painted white with a large green `X' about 4 feet high. What do you do now?
