Judge reporting

You know, I completely forgot this thread was here. I already reported to the main thread that I had emailed BigB and, not getting a reply (it's been almost a week now), was prepared to assume command of the game. I do need some time to review before I can do anything, though, and I'm not sure yet whether I'm ready to play it out to conclusion, or just to lead it to a smoother somewhat-resolved ending. Now that I'm suddenly reminded there are two threads to take over, it may take a bit longer than I had realized.

OOC: aaarrrggghhhh! no! not another thread. we just ended Ivv's thread! and pendrake just got freed from one not too long ago!

Where are you Big B?

OK. I think I figured out what's happening in this combat. BigB's style of editing old posts as new actions come in confused me, because I wasn't reading things in the order I'm accustomed. But, if I've got this right, Pendrake's and Semabin's actions in #65-66 are incorporated into #64, so it's the bottom of the order still to go. Two kobolds are dead, two have fled into the ruins, with K4 (in front of Eanos) and K5 (in front of Pendrake) are still fighting, although wounded.

Michael (as NPC; ajanders has been missing from this thread even longer than BigB) swings his hammer at K4 and misses, as does Eanos with this unarmed flurry. Pendrake and Semabin can now act in Round 5.

Pendrake draws his longswor, an odd design with a slightly heavier blade then the typical longsword, and gleaming even with the low light of the area. 'Ilks Bane is swing by the young human with confidence....

OOC: I am asuming that the prayer is still in effect.

1d20+10=20, 1d8+6=9 rats, not a crit

the heavy blade slices through armor and flesh at the hand of the red haired northerner.

OOC: Sorry about the delay. I got so preoccupied -- preoccupied to the extent I can get preoccupied with LEW these days -- with figuring out the main thread that I didn't notice this one was waiting for a DM post. I'll try to do better in the future.

Kobold 5 is now dead. The last remaining critter turns and follows his two comrades. You have three dead kobolds in front of you, and three who have fled, including one still within easy range (and already seriously wounded). What do you do?

Michael gives chase dramatically, but slowly.
He brandishes his weapons in the manner of a farmer shooing chickens, but fully intends to let them get away.
"I'd rather let them run home, then track them. Assuming we need to meddle with them at all."

Michael suspects the people they were sent out to rescue were a little too savvy to have fallen prey to these kobolds, but would like to check the bodies for any possible booty taken from an elan, a swordsman, and a jumpy katara.
"You know, like a pouch of catnip."

Pendrake Has to reeeeeely control his face to not laugh at michael's antics, but when he explains after they have left, he understands.
When the coast is clear he starts looking for what may be on the bodes of the kobolds, hoping to not find any catnip or such on them.

Eanos, human monk

Eanos considers giving chase (he could easily overtake at least the nearest kobold), but seeing that his companions have chosen not to, and realizing the kobolds are a distraction from their true mission, he stays with the group, helping search the bodies and keeping both eyes and ears open for a return of any threat.
